How can you possibly say he's good for the football program?

If he fires Bielema after this year, how can you possibly say that he doesn’t care about the football program?

because he's focused on stability and bot wanting to cut the dude too soon. he knows more than we do about the situation.

also his job isn't make sure football program good. its to run the athletic department football is a piece of that but firing someone especially an entire staff is a choice not to be taken lightly

I cant see any scenario where Bert is still HC after this year. But that's one mans opinion.

I've never felt so apathetic about the football program in my lifetime(including nuttster)

He has to beat Auburn for any chance of staying IMO, probably LSU also at this point.

Neither is happening.

Although, I think we play Auburn tight and lose a close game

I'm of the opinion, and have been for a while, that Bert leaves after this season on his own if he isn't fired. The only issue is where would he go if it's not a "mutual" parting?

We keep throwing around the Big Ten, which is where his heart really lies, but the issue there is that most of their coaches are safe.

Tom Allen (Indiana) - first year, safe
D. J. Durkin (Maryland) - safe
Jim Harbaugh (Michigan) - safe
Mark Dantonio (Michigan State) - safe
Urban Meyer (Ohio State) - safe
James Franklin (Penn State) - safe
Chris Ash (Rutgers) - hot seat, potential destination
Lovie Smith (Illinois) - has a $15M buyout
Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) - safe
P. J. Fleck (Minnesota) - safe
Mike Riley (Nebraska) - hot seat but don't think they would touch Bert
Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern) - safe
Jeff Brohm (Purdue) - safe
Paul Chryst (Wisconsin) - safe

Don't think that would be a good fit at all.

Honestly this would be the ideal time for Notre Dame to supplant Rutgers in the Big 10

I thought he was not safe as some other schools were going to hire him away from the Nitters. If that were the case, could you see Bert sliding in to fill the void?

That’s wishful thinking by A&M. He’s not going anywhere NCAA wise.

If bret stays Anderson experiment has to go. There is no reason to switch lineman as much as we do.

Stop. If that's even a possibility then some serious re evaluation of expectations needs to occur.

I don't see how he can. I understand the buyout may be high but looking at future earnings how can you justify making that decision.

Without outside pressure I don't think jeff fires him. I wasn't saying bret should stay just iffy on jeff doing what has to be done.

The buyout isn't that high comparatively, especially when you factor in his salary if he were kept on for 2018.

You either pay him ~$5.7M to go away this year or pay him ~$4M in salary next year and then the buyout on top of that when he's forced out at the end of the season.
