So I go scrolling thru the movies and there is The Identity Theft of Mitch Mustain. I don't know if I want to watch it or not, I've historically (irrationally probably) disliked him. Has anyone seen it? If so, any good?

Nolan narrating it was the real thing that made me hover on it and debate but I didn't watch it, at least not yet.

I saw it in Hot Springs a couple years ago. It's very very long, 2+ hrs and feels like 3. It does shed some light on the situation from an insider look, ,although clearly a slanted one. It is very self indulgent and over dramatized. Dude is a weird kid, and by the end of it you're really kinda sick of his story, I get it, you think you got screwed, but it's just over, and over, and over, with the same thing. Save your time and go watch Star Wars.

I heard the same thing from a friend who saw it, and I can't say I'm surprised.

It's beyond me as to how his story has gotten as much publicity as it has. I mean, a 5 star QB not panning out in college happens literally every year. This is nothing new at all. Plus, it's not like him leaving was this big "what could have been" in Razorback history, considering we got to enjoy the likes of Ryan Mallett and Tyler Wilson just a few years later.

He made a mistake by committing to a lame duck head coach who'd lost the fan base for good and made a bunch of empty recruiting promises. Again, it's a gross part of recruiting, but it happens all the time -- just look at A&M right now.

I wanted to like this kid, but don't live your life as the high school all star stuck in yesteryear thinking about what could have been. He's got to be nearing 30 -- I hope he's doing more with his life than just trying to sell a story that's way more common than he thinks it is.

I've seen the movie a while back. I really enjoyed it. To me, it's more of a general character study of elite youth athletes and the expectations/demands on them than its about the University of Arkansas. I didn't really give a shite that much when all the Gus stuff went down, though, so I didn't carry a bunch of angst or butt hurt into my viewing of the movie. Evidently that time is so painful for some people to remember and they're so embarrassed about it that they can't stand to dredge up the past. If you're going into it like that, then you'll probably dislike it.

If you're interested in watching a 30 for 30 like documentary about an interesting sports story, then it's worth seeing.

Full disclosure: Matt Wolfe is a friend of mine, so I'm probably biased in favor of the movie.

Eh. It's not like he's hard to get to know. Just hang at Brewski's on occasion. Plus: half of hog nation hates him for making that movie evidently.
