I get the premise of pay to play or sponsorships. Matt Rhule at Nebraska said a starting QB is 1 to 3 million. So are we paying our players a shite ton of money or how is it working? Are we paying that Boise St. QB money?

Hired assassins. Money talks.

That's how it's working at the moment, unless it gets reigned in a little bit.

So far it's mostly been us paying dudes to mail it in.

Was supposed to be a way for players to make money on jersey sales, autographs, video games, endorsements, commercials, etc., from OUTSIDE sources, and quickly became pay for play from inside the programs, which we all knew it would.

Makes me irrationally angry. Not just with our guys either. I'm ready to discard the "student athlete" BS and get these guys on performance based contracts. Cut half the team midseason if they start mailing it in and call up lower division players.

Power conference players are professionals and have been for some time. It's time to treat them like it.

Speaking of cutting people mid season and bringing guys up, we will likely soon start seeing basketball players transfer mid season during the Christmas break. There’s nothing to stop them now.

It's the Arkansas way, both with players and coaches.

- Bert got lazy after his extension.
- Morris was a loser who used our job as a quick payday to get rich.
- Pittman mailed it in after his second contract.
- basically every player who ever got a bag from us half-assed and stopped giving a shite, with the potential exception of KJ in 2022 (he epitomized this behavior in 2023).

We consistently have the worst ROI with contracts and NIL of anyone in major college athletics.

When you give a guy with zero chance to make the NFL a big payday he has zero incentive to work hard. I'd say guys like Drew Sanders and Landon Jackson have been worth every penny.
