he looks pretty good running down for a block, and he gets down the floor on the break well for a big guy too. i didnt see him in high school, but im sure he just sat down there and towered over little kids.

i really think he could get adjusted to this kind of play, but i dont ever see him being more than a 15 mins per guy. but i think thats ok.

IIRC his junior year he weighed like 180lbs.

He wasn't projected to be a one or even a two and done type player like Young. He was projected to come on his junior year, he is on pace with his development.

Madden was the projected the same.

BJ was the only player in the class that had a legit shot at jumping to the pros early the other three were going to be "college guys", 3-4 year guys. Everyone was getting hyped because Pel supporters were hyping the shite out of the class thinking it was going to save Pel's job, it was a solid class, but it wasn't a Calipari Kentucky 1 and done type class.

Mike's next class will fill in nicely with the current roster. Mickelson may only play 15-20 minutes a game, but that's fine, Corlis was the only "Big" (frick you Jimmy Dykes for making me use that term) to play substantial minutes in this system over the years, the rest of the guys were 10-20 minutes type guys, save Hood, but he was more of a SF playing the PF position like Corlis.

And is not even close IMO.

Madden just doesn't have it, at all.

And at the rate he is dropping, may be back next year.

Started the season #8 pick on draft express, was #11 last week, now #18. NBAdraftnet doesn't even list him in either round for some reason.

i actually like maddens game a lot when he's not shooting. he's not a scoring machine but he plays decent defense, is the best passer on the team hands down and has a very high basketball IQ though at times doesn't play like it.

if madden just said you know, i'mg oing to be a lock down defender, he can make money playing basketball.

Yeah, on the flip side, all I heard from the Pel pals was how Ricky Scott was suppose to be this lock down defender, I'm still waiting for him to decide to play defense.

Also what kills me against Michigan and Cuse was outside of Young and Powell, Haydar was the only one on the team not afraid to step up and knock down some threes and it isn't like they have to be scared of being benched for missing shots.

BJ young if he puts his mind to it could be an NBA 10 time all star. only westbrook is the better physical specimen of any other PG in the league.

Young just has to put on 10 pounds of solid muscle and become a more consistant outside shooter. he's really at the end of the day a one trick pony, he's gonna beat you off the dribble.. and i mean ti's a hell of a trck lol, but still that's not gonna work at least constantly at the next level. he's not a bad defender but he's not an elite defender either bigger physical guards give him trouble.

if he can knock down the 24 foot 3 pointer with real consistancy and not have so many mental runnign too fast witht he ball errors he woudl be a sure fire top 5 pick at worst IMHO. if he's knocking down his shot, he's unguardable.

Young has an Allen Iverson like first step.. i mean you know what's comming and you stil can't do shite about it. but he's not teh ball handler that AI is so AI could get away with not having a consistant shot

Madden plays scared as frick when he has the ball.

Drives me insane, even when left open he looks to pass then hesitates and shoots, usually a brick.

Grow a pair and pop the shot if it's there, with full confidence, damn.

This is true, but I've liked a lot of what I've seen from Madden this year. He just needs to gain some confidence and hopefully that will come in time.

Ricky Scott

Its almost fred gulley time, and I still don't know much about him. He played some PG at osu, but is scott who sees a decrease? Is gulley worth a shite?

He was a three star coming out of highschool, Pel struck out on him, to put it bluntly, we ended up with Nobles for a PG in that class.

We also lost A.J. Walton to Baylor, another PG from instate.

Two BCS level instate PGs, we end up with a SWAC level PG, sums up Pel's recruiting in a nutshell.

Pretty much.

Gulley isn't much of a threat, but he can't be any worse than Scott.

i mean.. i don't understand how someone can look at ricky scott, and make the decision that he should play D1 basketball

"okay what do we got here ricky scott.. let's see what we got here.. petrified of dribbling with his left hand, petrified of shooting basketball past point blank range, has a low BB IQ which negates his athletic ability which is above avg. nor is he a very good passer. not that this matters beucase he never passes the ball anyway but still...

yeah i'm going to offer this kid a scholly. I mean the kid has NO remediable qualities for the game of basketball. he's 6'3 190 ish he should go try out for BB at WR
