sadly we will still be playing against a bunch of spread teams with brooks Ellis playing MLB unless Khalia Hackett can actually Hackett. we are now seeing why we tried to give that guy every chance to take that job this offseason and it's because brooks is just not the kind of athlete who can handle these teams. he is an old school NFL style middle linebacker. he can bring the wood in the run but is awful in coverage. De'jon Harris is the kind of athlete we need at MLB and has the size already. I hope he can learn the scheme quickly or Carmouche can. we really in a bad way need a freshman or one of our more athletic linebackers to pick up the scheme better so on 3rd downs or against spread teams we can take brooks out of the game because he is a liability at this time. I expect greenlaw to really grow this offseason and shore up some of the linebacker problems. brooks on the other hand is really about as good as he is going to get I'm afraid. I believe he will improve but he isn't suddenly going to gain a ton of athleticism over the offseason.

there are some who say that it doesn't matter about our pass rush because the qbs are getting the ball out so fast that they couldn't get to the qb anyways. I disagree whole heartedly and believe Agim will bring the pass rusher with some explosiveness we are missing. even if qbs are getting the ball out quickly we need to get some guys who can disrupt the pocket with thier explosiveness and be able to get thier arms up to clog passing lanes because right now we just don't have a guy who can really explode off the line and I think that has more to do with our terrible secondary than anything. scheme also is a problem as well in some regards.

Yeah if we can hang on to Enos then I've got a feeling we will be better than expected at QB next year.

We must hang on to Enos. This yearly coaching carousel sucks for us early in the season.

The coaching searches are fun to watch, but not when your school is involved.

The LSU coaching search or not will be borderline erotic

Fully expecting Town to start.

Transfer QB's usually come in and play.

Maybe I am too optimistic but I don't think we are going to be very bad next year.

9 wins maybe in regular season. Schedule sets up nice. TCU should be down a bit, so maybe we pick up a good OOC win early.

Dunno though. Defense needs some work and maturing.

I have to think you are maybe. Just a little.
The conservative side of the bunch of us this preseason picked us for 8 or 9 regular season wins. We can argue about 'we should have' (and we should, even with the injuries we came close) but the bottom line is we will most likely end with 7. If we get a good draw in the bowl game, 8 for a final.

Just too many unanswered questions (except at WR) for me to say any more than 6 next year. Hope I'm wrong.

I must be the doom and gloom guy of our bunch because I predicted us to go 7-5 this season.

There were some going as far as 10... Even I thought it was possible if the moon and stars aligned just right.

Nobody banked on us losing to Toledo and Texas Tech though. And nobody banked on JW being out for the season either. We had our good share of bad luck, and still pulled a fair season out of it. Anytime you beat Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee in the same season, it hasn't been 'bad'.

He's not really a transfer in the true sense of the word, though. He's a true freshman who transferred during fall camp.

He'll still be a RS Freshman next year, with the same amount of time-in-program as Storey, both of whom will have have three fewer years than Austin Allen.

Bielema has said before he tends to be deferential to older players and players who have been in the system longer (Russell Wilson being an exception, though he was a senior during his lone season at Wisconsin), which makes me think Allen will get the nod.

our defense will be better

but our offense will be slightly worse than this year

so they'll basically be be at about the same level. which in turn will result in better results imo. last year our defense was way ahead of our offense which led to our offense losing games for us. this year our offense is way ahead of our defense, which has led to our defense losing games for us. next year I bet they'll be more equal

Maybe a little (just my opinion), because of having another year's experience behind them. We don't have anybody coming in that's going to be a drastic help right away that I know of... do we?

Greenlaw should make a good step forward, maybe Rameriez will as well.

I think Town came and watched what we had at the QB position and thought to himself "I could beat these guys out for playing time". I think he'll win the job next year. Should be a good legitimate QB contest though which means whoever wins should at least be decent.
