Before the season started, I never would have guessed we'd be ranked ahead of Iowa State when we play them.

Looks like we're gaining national respect fairly quickly. About damn time.

SEC Network is helping already. Most of these games wouldn't have been on national tv a year ago.

If we take care of business against Iowa State some where around 10 or 12 range is likely...

Next 3 games are huge w/ @ Iowa State, @ Clemson and home against Dayton.

Win those 3 and we might be close to top 10 going into conference play.

Been a long time, yo.

Will be in Ames, IA for game Thursday night. You gotta want it.

I think we'll beat Clemson and Dayton but @Iowa State will be really tough. Wish we had them at Bud Walton.

i'm not trying to be negative hog fan here but if we don't start playing better for the whole game we're gonna lose and lose again and then probably again and end up like we were last season.

i personally don't think we look that much better than last season- at least so far.

We arent doing the things we did last year that lost us games. No long arse scoring droughts, limited selfish plays, and are better and deeper on the bench.

Bell not hitting shots? Bring on anton. Hes cold? Throw in Babb for a few minutes and see what happens. I like manny as a sparkplug more than kikko because he is a better fit physically. I no longer fear jacory jacking up awful looking shots because he feels hes only gonna get 7 mins anyway.

All this, and weve already played and beaten a few teams that are better than half the SEC. It just looks better on the court.

i hope you (and the rest of y'all) are right. maybe i'm overcompensating for thinking we would go to the tourney last season?

i love the fact that we are deep and can wear folks down- that in itself is gonna be enough with a lot of the lesser teams but i'm concerned about the occasional good team we play. i know smu has the mystique playing in their place but they looked really bad to me. iona was scrappy and at least came to play but i thought we should have beat them worse than we did. now we're going to play a top 20 team at their place thursday? that frightens me.

We are doing exactly what we are supposed to. I get tired of analysts saying, Well..the game was a lot closer than the final score. The hogs ran away with it in the final 6-7 minutes.

Hell yes we did, and that's not by accident. That's how 40 mins of hell works. We want you to run with us until the final minutes when your team runs out of gas, and we then take over the game. That's AR basketball.

#7 in RPI rankings, too.

maybe i've gotten old and haggy but i remember it being prettier 20 years ago than it is now.

i'll shut up now, i want to believe. i do, i do, i do.

This.

I used to have this same argument with non Razorback fans back in the "good" Nolan days.

I don't give a damn if you kept it close for 30-35 minutes, it's the last 5-10 where we would pull away. That's how it's supposed to work.

Before today's game Arkansas ranked:

7th in the nation, 1st in the SEC for PPG.

1st in the nation in assists per game.

5th in the nation, 1st in the SEC for 3pt%.

45th in the nation, 2nd in the SEC for FG%. Vandy 25th.

14th in the nation for steals per game.

Not too shabby.

I'm not as skeptical as piggilicious, but I think we can all still remember the year we beat Texas and Oklahoma, both ranked, finished OOC with only one loss and then went on to lose every single SEC game except one. I don't think this team is like that, but I just want to see the season play out.
