This right here is what horrible line recruiting gets you. Thanks Pit

He didn't seem to do much on the DL with all the hype he had. Maybe a RS year for him after all.

Prolly has more to do with all the DL talent coming in.

Bielema: I removed CJ O’Grady, Dre Greenlaw and Jamario Bell for a week until they get their academics in shape.

yeah. im not worried about our d-line missing him with all the talent there and as was mentioned we could actually maybe get a redshirt out of him if we go injury free on the O-line this year

Does he even want to play O-line? Cause for some reason I'm feeling a transfer coming.

we have quite a few guys already who filled the role he did on the DL. a big run stopper. we need more pass rush and he doesn't fit that mold. it's not a shock that we moved him.

we have incoming freshmen talent there. other than wise and ledbetter i'm not sure we had dlinemen in the same zipcode as a qb for most of the year.

Last year bielema said he fit the mod for pass rush just fine. And our dline was deep and a huge strenght. Then the season hit and all the sudden we couldn't even hurry most qbs.

Because our linebacker play was poor. We were pretty damn good against the run.

in a 3-4 you rely on linebackers for sacks. in a 4-3 you rely on dlinemen to pass rush on the exterior and interior to get penetration so linebackers can tackle.

They were 12th against the run, just didn't get the edge rush.

Outside of Wise, nobody moved anybody and QBs had all fricking day to throw. That's the DL making LBs look bad, not vice versa. I do think our pass rush will be better with the redshirt off of Bell and with Sosa running wild, but there's no excuse for the lack of pressure we got last year. The pass rush DL was worse than the LBs IMO. Ellis and Greenlaw held their own for the most part and they were out there almost every snap.

When you linebackers can't cover it gives the QB an easy opportunity to get rid of the ball quickly

Greenlaw was out of position on most plays (understandably for a true freshman) and Ellis can't cover his own shadow.

That's true. Also doesn't apply in our case at all except with Tech. Lock is the only QB all season that didn't have an eternity in the pocket.

Their stats say otherwise but okay.

Interesting move, really thought he projected well as a DT but who knows.
