This is what fustrates me about college basketball

NEXT year was supposed to be our "year". this year, should be an avg arse arkansas season. top 20 team, 2nd round of the tounry this is supposed to be an avg year.

NEXT year with a senior qualls, more quality depth coming in, babb and beard getting a year older, and portis we were supposed to be a legit top 10 team next year.

but nope, NBA.

As a fan, I'm gonna be pretty sad if they both leave

Portis and Qualls should announce they're returning soon, I almost worry more about Qualls than Portis after how they ended the year as complete opposites (Portis struggling badly, Qualls going ham).

We lose very little between Madden and Harris, just the truth, love those guys but it's true.

I hope Jimmy Whitt is ready to come in and play immediately and can shoot the damn ball well. We've got to get some shooters other than the very inconsistent Bell, and another big. Kapita/Trey Thompson won't offer much next year unfortunately, how much faith do you have in Kingsley? Not a whole lot. Someone is gonna have to step up with Portis down low.

Kingsley is gonna be fine. Not worried about him.

Kapita is better than JWill right now.

I'm a little drunk at a birthday party, but I did watch the game. I am so proud of this team this year and it feels good to know that our program is back on track. If Qualls and Portis both come back next year could be special. The turnovers were disappointing but the alcohol nullified the rage. That was a fun game to watch.

Harris

he hits some great 18 foot fadeaways but his back to back fouls and back to back walks tonight are the kind of thing I wont miss when he leaves

Dude even fades when he shoots free throws. I can't believe not a single coach got a hold of his arse and taught him to just go up. I guarantee you he doesn't even know he does it. I had the same problem in high school. I'm not the tallest guy so I instinctively faded on most shots and didn't even know I was doing it. My coach brought it up and helped me fix it and my shot improved dramatically. That's what Harris needs.

Agree. We got to where everyone wanted to see us pre-season. It sucks to lose when we're here, but roll the forum back to the start of the season and round of 32 was the overwhelming "successful season" bar.

That's one of the most idiotic things I've read. Kapita, a high school senior who has been injured and didn't play the entire season, is better than a junior JWill, right now? Lolz. No.

And lol@Dusty Hannahs, I expect very little from that guy, very little. Whitt is next in line at the 2 for Madden, probably day 1.

Beard has to progress decently too, god did he ever hit a wall the last month of the year. Kid couldn't hit a single damn shot literally and never could hit FT's. Might of worn down as well.

really proud of this team and they way the competed this year. they were a flawed team but they played their asses off most of the time.

also sad to see Madden go, can't remember another player i've done as much of a 180 on as Ky. Didn't think he'd last a year here but ended up having a really good career, hope he gets his degree and finds some success overseas.

The team did play really hard and I credit MA for that.

Watching other teams in the tourney, some of their defenses look soft compared to what I'm use to seeing with Arkansas.

Playing a freshman at point finally caught up with us but Beard will be a good player for us with experience.

If Durham had played with the fire he showed during the tournament, he'd probably still be starting. I think Beard will look like a different player next year when he's one of the "elder statesman" of the guards. I'm convinced he's got a much better penetration game than he's shown us.

Agree on Durham...during tourney time I think we all finally saw what MA saw in him all along.

He will be a great asset moving forward

Yeah, it's always that 2nd year that you truly see a JUCO start to get it all together. Durham will be solid behind Beard.

Some rumblings that Beard has a sprained wrist and has been playing through that along with his tweaked ankle, may be some truth with how poorly his shooting fell off.

But if we don't get another big to step up we'll be in the same trouble next year. The thought of JaCorey Williams starting is enough to scare anyone.

I would believe it. His shot was too wet at the beginning of the year for something to not have been wrong with him. That kid's stroke is smooth.
