Why the frick are we still talking about this man. He broke it off in our asses and didn't have the common courtesy of giving us a reach around.

My thoughts exactly. We looked like fish jumping into a boat in a couple of those threads come on guys. The hooks were shiny as hell.

Imo you can't say someone is a top 5 coach then qualify it by cutting the game into a third.

I said at least offensively. He probably isnt top5 overall but if he beats Clemson he's in the playoff, something not many coaches can say. The way they looked today there isnt anyone else in the ACC that can give them a race.

But I agree. Its not like we're in the cellar. We are going to be just fine with CBB, and we may prove to be even better in the long run, but that remains to be seen.

I think its frustrating because with BP you saw some great teams that went out and pummeled lesser teams, but when it came to the big game we always laid down. That and BP was an incredible in-game coach. Multiple times we would come from behind and win. Then you have CBB, who plays very close and even BEATS elite teams, but then they go out and shite the bed against lesser competition, teams that we should be blowing out. He also isnt good at in game adjustment and changing game plans. We get what we get for 4 quarters.

Its like we can get one or the other but we cant get both. Too bad we cant get CBB with BP as an offensive coordinator

Why defend it? There's nothing to defend, imo, and the trolls know it; they're just being flaming trolls. I thought that's the way it worked on tSECr???

Bobby P. is a great offensive coach, no doubt about it; anyone who has a problem admitting that is full of sour grapes. I'd be lying if I said I would not have liked to see how far we could have gotten with him, but he screwed that up, (pun intended ), not UofA.

His termination wasn't because he had a side piece; it wasn't a moral issue. By all accounts, everyone in the state, including Long, knew he had an extramarital activity going on. He rode her blatantly all over NW Arky on the back of his custom Hog hawg. The problem is that one can't hire his bimbo over many much more qualified applicants - even the appearance of such an impropriety is more than enough to fire someone. No one, certainly not Long, said he couldn't have said bimbo, but he couldn't put his employer in legal jeopardy because of her. That shite won't fly anywhere with any employer, no matter the business ... except probably the government - at any level.

Bobby P's enormous ego bit him in the arse. And that's too bad since he is a great offensive coach, but there was no choice for UofA except the one Long made. No reason to waste energy on trolls defending/explaining.

Frankly, more than anything, I question BP's judgment of allowing himself to obviously be used by some gold-digging, job-needing tramp who evidently knew she couldn't get this job on her own merits, so screwed the coach to get it. This wasn't some innocent dumbass undergrad kid being taken advantage of. She knew what she was doing; just wish BP would've.

I honestly believe that it has worked out for the best for all parties involved. And I really do like Coach Bielema.

He's lucked into a mobile QB who can also pass the ball, this is no different than what has been seen from Malzahn, bryles, Mack brown etc. they have an elite QB who presents match up problems and have a great year or two as a result.

How did he luck into a QB he recruited? Just say you don't like him but at least respect football to give him his due

He's recruited a dual threat QB in every class for a decade straight, he finally has one that pans out but no luck is involved as a 90% fail rate is just typical Petrino recruiting.

I melted like a bitch when we fired him. It's very nice having a better ALL AROUND HBC though. I do wish he could make special teams more special.

Petrino is a great offensive coach and play caller. Maybe the best. That's about all I can say positive.

This year has seen a major upswing in that department. Hell, we are averaging 50 yards per punt, and we haven't had the ole' blocking scheme on the FG unit.

There's only so much you can do with Hedlund. He's just an average FG kicker. Have to recruit a stud FG kicker.

I think this is vastly overstated by our fans considering that our 2015 offense was better than anything Petrino ever trotted out.

Allen was the best QB in the SEC by the end of the season and would've made All-SEC had we beaten State, and he wasn't getting the shite knocked out of him on every dropback like Mallett and Wilson. Plus, we had a great run game behind a physical OL that could get a push against anyone.

Petrino is a glorified O.C.

That's all he is.

He might recruit ok at Louisville but his deficiency at recruiting was exposed here where we have to have an exceptional recruiting H.C. and staff to cover for our geographic disadvantage.

Anybody with good ole days blues over Petrino has selective memories or must have enjoyed finishing second on most of our out of state recruits and enjoyed the drama of which players would drop out or be arrested this week.

I don't miss him at all.

His recruiting will work fine at Louisville who has no problem covering as much thuggery as possible within their program.

He will always look better in the ACC than he did in the SEC. They only have to get up for a couple of games each year. Wake me up when he wins something of note.
