I have disagree about Fayetteville.

There are so many local artists here. The Underground gets help from the city, but it wouldn't exist if there hadn't already been a solid visual arts community in place

Backspace is another venue featuring performing and visual arts. Heartwood Gallery is a grass-roots art, sculpture, collective (and a great place to buy unique gifts).

The Little Craft Show is a grass-roots art show featuring nothing but local artisans and their work. It is huge.

Fayetteville is inarguably the "artiest" city in the state. Go to any frame shop or local gallery and you'll find works by so many Fayetteville artists, you can't count them all. We have sculptors, painters, all kinds of artists here.

And that's not even counting the number of musicians and songwriters who live here.

Eureka wins, per capita, with visual artists, though. I agree.

I like the murals. We have some of them in my part of the world and they enhance the landscape.

But yes Fayetteville and Eureka are a bit odd for sure.

I'm glad the businesses here in the Fort committed to these murals. Until now we've had about as much artistic culture as a cinder block.

Fort Smith has a problem in that they think everything that happens here should be unanimous. So we end up with the lowest common denominator everything. Even the new water park they built here was controversial. I'm glad to finally see some progress.
