Excellent! I'll give a 0.5 to each so I can get back to round numbers.

And here we go....

I had some kid argue with me in The Gardens once that "Rah Rah" sounded "stupid".

I'm like, lets just start the song with "YeeeeeaaAAAAHHHH BITCHES!" you know, if kids think it sounds "cool".

I occasionally hear dumbfricks sing "Arkansas, Razorbacks, to the finish". I have to be honest, it pisses me off. At least have enough respect for the song to know the words.

Plus, HOUSTON DALE NUTT was the one who lead the singing of it so piss poorly wrong. Front and Center, leading the fricking band, and the man would sing "Go Hogs" and "Arkansas, Razorbacks, to the finish".

I don't really care too much about the AAAwooooo in WPS, because I've always viewed it as something of a free-form, wild arse cheer.

Songs have lyrics, though.

How about "Mother of mothers, we think you's a bad bitch!"

Since we beez jus makin shite up as we go.

That would be more than most students know

I'll be honest. I always fumble my way through the Alma mater. I know most of the lyrics just not the order. that's partly due to being in band and never having to sing it just play my part. And to answer Miz Piggy's question I used to always say "rah, rah" but now I usually just say Go Hogs.

Slightly off topic, but it was amusing during the Sugar Bowl watching the Hog fans try to figure out which was was NW in the Super Dome at the end of the Alma Mater.

I always enjoy watching sidewalk fans look up when our group points at the end of the alma later.

I told a friend of mine we should point, duck and take cover to see what kind of reaction we get. One season our seats next to us were on stubhub or some crap and we had different people next to us every home game. I wish we had tried it.

This may be small fries, but a couple years ago a new band director took and screwed up the pregame music that had been in place since I was a tiny kid. Anyone recall that?

The National Anthem?

Yes, new version sucks. The RMB director will change next year so maybe he will go back to normal National Anthem. I don't like him all that much though. He came from LSU and has introduced "Neck" to the band. It's shameful.

Yeah, I recall that. That guy SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED. His name was Gunter.

He took the part where the band plays Semper Fidelis (which is the perfect intro to the the playing of the national anthem) and substituted the theme from Silverado.

turrible.

Talk about a complete and utter frickstain. Changed the pregame to a shittier version after it had been done the same way for at least 40 years. I know mostly alums noticed and got pissed by that, self included.

And I don't like calling anyone a "sidewalk fan". Not all of them do it, but usually if its somebody who doesn't understand or participate in the traditions (or who does it wrong) they aren't former students. That's ok. I just wish they'd learn the traditions and songs so they can participate correctly.

Little shite like that makes me angry after a few beers. I don't want to berate anyone, but c'mon man.... The lyrics to the fight song and the alma mater are as familiar as Christmas music to me. Its like its own special holiday.

I know if you didn't go to Arkansas, you'll never get jazzed about the Alma Mater. But they put the words on the screen. At least don't holler or act like a dumbass while the rest of us sing it.

I'm 'sessed with the Razorbacks and the U of A. Can't be any other way. Sorry for partying.

I yearned for a return to my student tickets the first year I had season tickets post-college. The very first time we scored a TD, my wife and I jumped up and started signing the fight song as we always do. We quickly realized that no one in our section was singing it. People sitting down actually seemed annoyed by us. It pissed me off so much that no one knew the song.

Yep, Semper Fidelis.

I was livid. Absolutely livid. That literally screwed with my mind. It wasn't right and I remember that next season being thrilled it was back.

Same here. My jaw dropped that first pregame. I couldn't believe it. I have been able to hum the entire pregame since I was a kid and this jackass just flippantly substituted a song.

I'm very 'sessed with our traditions.

Not only do I say "Go Hogs", I have never heard anyone ever say "Rah Rah" in DWRRS or BWA

I know that is the official words, but I just thought everyone had unofficially changed it

Mind blown that people actually say "Rah Rah"

Thankfully Semper Fi is back and has been for 4 or 5 years. Our pregame has been mostly unchanged for about 40 or so years now. I like it that way. Only sad thing is that the band doesn't Train in from the sidelines like they used to. That's prohibitted due to some ncaa or sec rules.

Yeah I miss that, but they hadn't always done that. It started in late 80s I think. They used to just march onto the field and start playing the fight song, without a preliminary Hog Call. I want to say the train started with Robken being in the dept.

But the songs have been the same for at least 30 years if not longer.
