After the State game. He said they got lazy against State and they all have to play with more intensity, especially on defense. He said they feel bad about losing at home, and now they have to go steal a couple on the road. Good to see that they're focused and know what they need to improve upon.

It's also good to see the players taking some responsibility and trying to improve, instead of hanging their heads and throwing in the towel after a bad loss.

Good crowd tonight too, they said paid attendance was 15,000.

How many butts were in seats, just curious?
Paid attendance against Miss State was around 15,000 - but there were only about 8,000 in the house it was said.

I saw on Twitter that the estimated actual attendance was around 11,000.

I was about to make fun of how badly we played... Because it looked terrible in a win, lazy actually at times.

However, I looked at Mizzou's schedule and we have the highest point spread of a win, tied with Zona against Mizzou.

We won a game we had to win against a bottom feeder. I guess terrible opponents make others look bad as well.

State is hot, they beat A&M tonight.

Tennessee beat Vandy on the road tonight too, that win against them is proving to be precious right now.

No it isn't. This is a 3 bid league and a 4th might squeak in.

Right now, it is our worst loss of the season. State currently has an RPI of 118 according to warren nolan. aTm isn't a very good win, as is being boasted about. aTm is 1-4 in league play and all of their losses in league play are by 10+, except the State loss, which as by 8.

LOL, no.

The only teams with a shot at the NCAA tourney RPI wise, is Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Georgia.

Arkansas is the only team in that mix that does not have a win over a current top 50 RPI team. To get in the tourney, Arkansas is going to have to beat a top 50 RPI team. That means, Arkansas is going to have to win at Florida at Georgia or at South Carolina, and avoid any bad losses. Like, losing at aTm, LSU, Missouri, and Auburn.

This team has screwed the pooch. There are no top 50 win opportunities remaining on the home schedule outside of Georgia. Ole Miss is currently top 50, but that isn't going to last much longer if they keep losing.

Bottom line...the team is in the dreaded SEC hole. It had opportunities to win a top 50 game at home against Florida, but didn't. Now, the pickings are slim the rest of the way out.

No worries. We will lose plenty of games on the road this season.

It's early to say this team has "screwed the pooch," we still have 14 games left plus the SEC tournament.

Its pretty simple to just look down the schedule and see there aren't really many opportunities left out there. All it is going to take is a bad loss on the road and the tourney hopes are dashed.

Even you can't think this team is going unbeaten on the road against the bad teams.

True, but we have several wins right on the edge of the current top 50. UT-A is 56, Tennessee is 60 and Houston is 63. Those are some teams to watch that can help us. We still have a lot of basketball left, if we can win 8-9 more games in the regular season we'll be a lock for the tournament.

I'll be thrilled and surprised if we go .500 the rest of this schedule. We have MORE than enough talent, so hearing that the players may be taking over is a positive in that regard.

UT-A seems to be falling off a bit since their conference play started. They've lost two in a row to teams with 201+ RPI. They got drummed at Troy their last game. All indications point to them to keep slipping back. Tennessee is one that could climb though, I would agree. I like TN and think they're a solid club. Houston is likely to keep slipping as well. They have Memphis coming up, which they should win and then they go to SMU. I doubt they win at SMU but if they do, they could indeed climb.

I wouldn't go that far. It depends on who the 8-9 victories are against. If we beat aTm x2, LSU x2, @Missouri, Ole Miss, Alabama, and @ Vandy, I don't think those 8 wins get Arkansas in the tourney.

aTm, LSU, Missouri, Alabama, Vandy, and @ Auburn are games this team can't afford to lose. So, IMO, we need to sweep those games...which is asking this team to go 10-0 against them. I just don't think Arkansas can do that. Then, you have to win at least a game or two out of @Florida, @Ok State, and @ South Carolina.

The issue for me is this...We have one top 50 RPI team remaining at home in Georgia to close out the season. Though Ole Miss is top 50 right now, I think we can all agree they won't be there much longer because they're not a very good team.

So essentially, our top 50 win hopes hinge on this team going on the road and beating Florida, Ok State, or South Carolina...I just don't like our chances in any of those.

Right now, Ive got us finishing 10-4 with what we have left. Just based off of what I have seen so far this year. That would put us 24-8 with only a top 50 win over Georgia at home. Record alone says we would make it, but our record against top 50 RPI teams would be very bad.

I dunno...

Edit...And this is all assuming we don't go on the road and lose to an LSU(bad loss), or Missouri(terrible loss).

I don't think 8 will get it done unless some things really continue to fall our way in terms of RPI. I guess it also matters which teams those wins are against. I think we are going to need 9 or more and can't lose in the 1st round of the SEC tournament.

Another huge factor that we really can't put into the equation atm is the SEC tournament. There might be a chance to get another top 50 win if we do well.

Yes, of course. A big win for us would be us stealing one OOC at Ok State IMO. Just based on their Big 12 schedule alone, the Cowboys are going to hover around the top 50 RPI regardless. If we can some how steal that game on the road and steal a road win at South Carolina, then we would be good with NO MORE bad losses.

Everything is spoiled if we lose at aTm, LSU, or Missouri. Period.

I say South Carolina because Florida is just a bad matchup for our team. We can't beat them IMO with their length and the defense they play.

aTm is a trap game. We've never won in that gym and they only lost by 8 to State @ Starkvegas
