I think it's clear that this was a bad loss. I don't think it's going to break the team or anything like that. We are still 16-5. The team still requires improvement but I think we still have a good shot at the tourney.

it isn't just the loss, but dang... we were sPaNkEd! as in beaten like a dog...
The commentators could even see it coming with their wise mouth breathing. It was terrible to watch.
But, we are what we are.... Will we ever be better?
I still see us as a NCAA tourney team, hopefully a 10 or 7 seed... Not much of a chance at the latter...

Losing competitively on the road to a pretty decent team I can take once in a while. Getting our butts handed to us, however, is a different story.
I think our players are better than that, I am starting to drift over to the dark side and questioning the coaching.

I had to leave after the first half because of work. But it seemed like the Vandy comeback just took a lot out of the team. They were a step slow, weren't hustling like they needed to, and were just wiped. I'd wager they come back out strong the next game (or so I hope).

Sorta off topic but over the weekend I watched some older basketball movies. Saw Nolan Richardson recruiting Jesus Shuttlesworth along with other big time programs on He Got Game and then saw Dick Vitale mention "the Kentucky, Kansas and Arkansas type programs" on Love and Basketball.

The problem is we have extremes on both sides. We have people on each end going further to outdo each other. Like "fricking cancerous loser mentality has infected this fanbase" is really ridiculous.

What did I say that made me seem to be the other extreme. The other extreme would be if I demanded final 4s every 2 or 3 years. I just think we should be a tournament team most years with a tourney win at least every 3 or 4 years. With our history that's not asking too much

Agreed which why saying my quoted line from you is hyperbole. You think labeling people as "fricking cancerous loser mentality has infected this fanbase" just because they defend Mike.
I already stated before the year that I want him gone if we miss the tourney but that won't stop me from defending him when some stupid shite is thrown his way on here from time to time.

I wasn't trying to flame I justv feel like some of our fans are ok with sub par quality from some of our sports teams.

Wasn't really trying to say you were flaming in that post. I just think that is what can start one, just like this thread
I agree that some have low expectations but I just think we shouldn't lump those that defend Mike in that kind of category yet. Maybe that is a better assumption at the end of the season if we miss the tourney and those same people are still defending him.

Can we at least be negative about Little Jimmy Dykes? 13-8 and 2-6 in the SEC with his decent roster is worse than anything Mike has done.

I watched their game yesterday- he was Johnny Jones level bad towards the end. I was seriously disappointed.

I caught part of that game as well. It was... underwhelming. I was not whelmed at all.
