Many Hog fans refuse to accept what will be stated in this thread.

1. The best college football teams have the best players.

2. Recruiting is how you get the best players. Arkansas coaches do not use innovative tactics to get an edge in recruiting. Much like our offensive style puts us at a disadvantage to overcome a deficit in the 4th quarter. Bielema's recruiting approach often leaves us behind other schools coming into a recruit's SR. Year leaving too much ground to make up.

3. We don't recruit top end athletes. We certainly don't recruit enough top shelf guys to create quality depth. JJ Watt is an outlier. Not every under recruited guy is going to blow up and be a NFL All-Pro.

4. We're the fattest, laziest, under served healthcare wise state in the nation. That must change on the family level before we see an improvement in the talent level of home state kids.

5. Kids need to play more actual sports than PS4 sports. Families need to workout and exercise together to form positive habits and stronger bonds.

6. Wages must increase so families can eat better and parents can be more involved in youth activities. Pay our people more so they can invest into their children's futures.

7. The boosters we depend to fund our athletic department prefer playing grab arse over winning games.

8. We do cheat. Just not well enough. Frank Fletcher cars are all over athlete parking areas.

9. We like Coors. As my good buddy Capt. Womochel says "the West wasn't won on Amstel Light."

I get it though. We've looked like a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. I'd be the same way but I have no fight left in me.

Gotta use what we have. i say recruit a ton of linemen, line ten of them up and run wild hog every play. No way would a team be able to hold up against that for 4 quarters. I Dont care if we get 3 yards every play just pound it.

Better chance of that working than getting Arkansas out of the bottom 10 fattest states in this decade.

I think they try. The fro, sending the whole staff to a spring game, sending 500 letters to a recruit's girlfriend.

Our staff just doesn't have the "swag" personality that a lot of kids like

Our head coach certainly has bravado. Of course, it makes him look like a fricking buffoon

Like elite recruits, Jen followed the money.

We need to ante up if we have a prayer of maintaining relevance as a football program.

Counterpoint -- Mississippi and Alabama are two horrendously fat and lazy states, and they're home to 4 football programs who are either trending up or have won the SEC recently.

West Virginia
Cal
Ms. State

These guys must be removing themselves from the recruiting rankings to give others a fair shot at the crown.

I think we can win BB's way by focusing our recruiting on O-line and D-line. Recruit them the way other schools do skill players. Treat them like 5 star QB's. A great line trumps all else. A dominant O-line can make a 3 star QB and RB look like 5stars. They can buy time for receivers that are a step slow to come open. A great D-line makes shitty linebackers and Dbacks better. And develop them. Get the best damn line coaches money can buy. Put them in the NFL, treat them like kings and profit.

Lock down in state talent. Do what you have to do. And focus on kids that want to be at Arkansas. Ones that get chills when they hear the fight song. Get some ballers. I want that kid that is still busting arse late in the fourth when his team is down and winning is not an option. I want a kid with a mean streak. No dirty, but hardnose, hard thumping, enforcer mf'ers. We will never be able to out recruit the bigs. We need to id the 3 stars that are a little physically immature but will BUST SOME arse. Look for kids with insane competitive drive. It can't be taught or developed. frick primadonnas! No time for them. Unless a kid is mf'ing Herschel, Bo, Cam or Manziel. frick'em. No time for that shite or attitude. Unless they can win a game single handed and are a once in a lifetime talent, piss on them. Even then, the greats are not...usually.

Hire recruiters. Period. Some people are better than it than others. Your head coach can be a dumbass, but if he gets good assists, lets them do their thing, and recruits his arse off...you win!!! Ideally, we get a great mind and recruiter, but the two often don't go together. And just like players, hire coaches that WANT to be here. That mfing LOVE Arkansas football. That want nothing more in life than to coach the Hogs to a NC. Look at the in state coaching talent we've shite on over the decades. Just make sure last name is not NUTT

We should also make a note that when we take recruits out for a night on the town we don't stop by Bottom's Up. I'm just saying that the cockroaches may not give the high class appearance we are going for.

Need input from college age kids on who's cool and who isn't. They fricking love me. I got a fleet of rides, lotsa bitches, and say mf'er a lot. I could teach our recruiters a lot. And I'm a dick. Kids that age don't like people that are too nice...and dorky. BB seems like he'd be a good recruiter, just wonder about his work ethic. Sometimes you gotta treat'em like women. Like a pick up artist. Give them too much attention and they'll drop you. Can't seem desperate.

TCU - Trevone Boykin has been a top 10 player the last couple seasons and the team is a bit overrated.

Baylor - also overrated, hasn't played anyone.
Utah - has underperformed outside of the Oregon laydown
Northwestern - beat an overrated Stanford team
Stanford - overrated and beat another overrated USC team
Wisconsin - is nothing
West Virginia - surely you're not claiming WVU to be a top 5 team
Cal - Sonny Dykes, our #3 man 3 years ago is beating us in recruiting the south. Cal is trending up, we're spiraling.
Ms. State - one good year and they have Dak who's been in Heisman talks for a couple years. We have zero All-SEC hopefuls much less award winners.

None of those teams outside of TCU are beating Ohio St., Alabama, LSU, UGA, or Florida St. (the schools consistently at the top of recruiting rankings)

Why'd you leave off UCLA? They've recruited extremely well. Stanford has had good recruiting classes for awhile, they've kicked our asses a few times. Their class is Top 10 right now.

We've been recruiting on the same level as Missouri and MissST and they've been beating us on the field.

As much as we want to believe it, the hogs are not punching above their weight. They're reaching their potential at best and underachieving at worst.

Those are teams in the top 25, today, who on average do not pull in top 25 classes.

You can't use their schedules against them in stating they are over-rated or not top 25 material while ignoring the schedule factor Arkansas has faced, which has been top 5 in strength every year for almost a decade now.

If the schedule skews the ranking and record of a team into being "over-rated", then you must also acknowledge that a tough schedule can skew the record and perception of a team not being "good".

Otherwise you are trying to have it both ways, cherry picking data to support your conclusion instead of allowing data to present a conclusion to you.

One of my favorite things about being a hog fan. We're always gonna play the toughest. It takes a psycho-masochist to be a Hog fan.
