Not games that we all remember (ie OU in Orange Bowl or any of the Final Fours) but games we remember but people do not seem to talk about when talking about great games or opponents of the past...

1989 New Years Eve UNLV at the Thomas and Mack main CBS game
1988 @ oSu when ESPN was trying to decide viability of college baseball on the network
2003 Ambush in Austin
2001 7 OT @ Ole Miss only game on that night (Thursday)
2003 7 OT @ UK just seems to get lost because of the UT and Ole Miss games.

I think both the OT games against UT and UK get lost in the shuffle and not just the one against Kentucky. That Ole Miss one gets so much more publicity then the other two. Most likely because it was the first but that Kentucky one was pretty damn exciting too.

Throw in the Auburn game this past year and Razorback fans have watched 24 overtime periods spanning just four games. That's pretty crazy.

Mallett throwing a walkoff TD pass against UGA in Athens was pretty damn cool at the time

Also the game where vandy misses a really short FG to win was classic just because of the personal circumstances

The people in the apartment below us were like 15 seconds ahead so they always cheered before we knew what happened.

We heard them yelling before Jerry Franklin housed a fumble

So when vandy was lining up for a chip shot to win and we hear them yelling we were like "Idk what's gonna happen but it's gonna be good" ... Look up at the screen and they miss lol

Not to nitpick, but this was actually on a Saturday.

I do agree with someone above that the 7 OT game against Kentucky tends to get overshadowed by the Ole Miss game, and I'm not sure why. Both were on the road, and that Ole Miss team wasn't anything special (they had Eli but they finished that season 7-4 and didn't go to a bowl).

That Vandy game in 2011 was one of the more "WTF" games from the Petrino era. Bad playcalling (especially in the first half), awful defense save for the goal line miracle, bad officiating, and Marquel Wade's hit and ensuing meltdown on the way to the locker room after getting tossed.

I remember Petrino saying something, either in a post-game press conference or on his coaches show with Chuck Barrett, that he made some sort of defensive "recommendation" to Willy Robinson at halftime and Willy was like "oh yeah, never thought of that." When your offensive-minded head coach is having to give pointers to your DC at halftime when you're getting worked, you know your defensive staff is a complete joke .

Cussed him out and threatened him is more likely. Recommendation sounds better

You are right, I had it in my mind as a Thursday for some reason. The reason it was a big game, is that everyone was talking about it and the length of OT's. It will not be as big as 4th and 25, as that will always be a bigger game, due to knocking Ole Miss out of SECCG and gave the Hogs a shot at a bowl, IMO.
