If OU hires Spavital as OC I wonder if MS tries to get WR coach at OU?

Sounds like more movement ahead.

We took care of every one of our assistants that I expressed an interest to do so. Every one of those guys is staying put. I can’t tell you what’s happening out there beyond what I know, but it should be an interesting couple of weeks.”

He didn't want him to go. He just wanted him to not stay.

Sounds like Bert is unofficially showing some assistants the door. Kind of like he did ash. He didn't want him to go, but didn't try hard to keep him.

I wish we could pull up the threads that were on the coaching board then. IIRC our reactions were either or flat out Nooooooooooo.

Wow, they just hired John Chavis and now they're interviewing Robb Smith?

But seriously, the only thing I'd miss about MSmith is the LA recruiting.

Jay Norvell would trump MSmith in all phases. If Norvell has daughters they are surely cuter than Smiths.

well well....

Not sure what to think about him, no Florida ties that I can see, but it isn't a prerequisite for sure...

Hmmm

I'm sure he has recruiting ties all over the south given his background and experience. Can you be a recruiting coordinator in the SEC and NOT have some contacts in Florida?

OU's 247 board is reporting that Chaney is one of a handful of coaches that Bob Stoops is interested in for his open OC spot. I said a few days ago that I actually thought this would be a good fit for him. I think his offense would work much better in the wide open Big 12 than the SEC.

Other candidates mentioned in the thread are Scott Frost from Oregon (lol) and Mike Norvell from Arizona St.

Another (new?) name. Seems like it would be pretty obvious though so might have been mentioned already.
