Lets all place our bets.

Shannon will probably be the popular pick.

1. Shannon
2. R. Smith
3. Jennings

Those would be my guesses.

As much criticism as Chaney gets, he won't quit? ... He needs to be asked to leave. Period. ... And I certainly hope it's not Smith.

70% odds on Shannon.

No way Robb leaves after 1 season, he flirts elsewhere we will pony up to keep him.

I'm sure they've already got a nice pay bump worked out for Smith and probably Jennings.

R. Smith and Jennings should stick.. Jennings coached all our DBs late in the year and he's trying to close strong in TX while Smith has taken over Graham's recruitment. Shannon's type guys Dinson, Redwine and Sotolongo we can do better imo

Shannon would be my guess but Bert has proven his value of hiring good assistants. Evidently from what I read he suggested it might be more than ome due to tjeir impressive resumes.

We knew when we got Shannon it was only going to be for a few years anyways.

Sounding like he's heading to Florida.

With Collins to UF as DC would Shannon make a move there for an assistant position?

I really hope it's not Shannon. I have so much respect for him, and he fits in perfectly with Bielema's 'role model' persona. That man's not only a great coach, he's a great human being.

I doubt Smith leaves, but he did turn our D into a monster after an absolutely abyssmal (well maybe just mediocre) year. Not sure where he'd go for that would match the pay.

Jennings I could definitely see leaving.

Also, I should mention that I have no insider knowledge and that I'm really just shooting the shite.

The defensive staff is lightyears better than the offensive staff.

I would not be sad to see anyone on the O go, except for Pittman. But, Sam is not going anywhere for a while.

So.... hopefully its someone on O

Dont you know Sam and Chaney are connected at the hip and cant operate without each other? thays what 247 tells me.

Heck they want to make Pittman OC even though he has never called an offensive series in his life.

Agreed. Aside from Pittman and Lunney, I'm fine with losing Chaney, Smith or Thomas. I was apprehensive when we hired Lunney, but it's impossible to discredit what he's done with Henry and Derby, and TE is arguably the strength of our offense.

On D, I obviously want everyone back, but if I had to pick one that'd I'd be okay with losing, it'd probably be Segrest. However, I was pretty low on him mid-season but our ST got better in the home stretch, and I was impressed that we were able to make lemonade out of lemons with McFain when it was obvious that we had to pull Henson. Our line also seemed to get a much better and more consistent push later in the season, though we did make Blake Sims run for his life all night. Of course, part of that was due to Trey Flowers owning real estate in opposing teams' backfields quite literally every game.

they really did, besides the defense as a whole this was the most improved group.

i don't dislike chaney as much as y'all do but i wouldn't cry if he was gone- altho i'd be a little nervous that we'd get someone worse. i don't want an lsu offense- at least chaney's not that bad.

I really hope it's not Jennings or Smith. It's been light years since we've fielded a good defense and a competent secondary, and I'm excited about the fact that we have such a bevy of talented youth back there.

I think Nussmeier would be a very good hire for us if Chaney were to leave, and I don't blame him for Michigan being terrible. Hoke is a know-nothing buffoon who'd Peter Principled himself in Ann Arbor, and no assistant was going to be able to stave off disaster in the midst of that dumpster fire of an athletic department. I loved Nussmeier's offense at Bama, and if it weren't for Saban having an enormous brainfart resulting in the kick six they'd have won the NC.
