It's being reported on twitter that he has died. Luke Matheson of Rivals is saying it was a car wreck. Very sad news for his family. No matter what he was going through, no parent should have to see their child's funeral.

@LukeMatheson: Just heard the news about Altee Tenpenny. My heart is broken. He was a tremendous young man. RIP Altee. Gone too soon.

@LukeMatheson: @Got_da_captain No. He was killed in a car accident.

@LukeMatheson: @Got_da_captain He was arrested Sunday. Several NLR folks told me he was on his way home and had the wreck.

Damn. Looks like he was arrested Sunday and kicked off Nichols? Probably a big factor unfortunately.

Not the thread for this debate, but AT wasn't even close to the level of Basil.

I really think if the kid would have stayed then things would have different.
When instate kids stay, they are considered family and there is a support system that comes with that.
He was just another player at Bama so there was no support there.
Prayers for his family.

Yeah, I was hoping he could get his life straightened out and find the right coach to mentor him. Hate it for his family and friends, way too young to go

Wow. That's out of the blue.

Ironic that you're using this tragedy to grind your axe against Bielema.

Come on man.
Bret can be a dick sometimes but I don't think he would exploit a kid's death.

I have an ax with Burt and all the fans that trashed Tenpenny when he left. Pretty sure Burt has made multiple quips about kids leaving the state etc. Nothing close to wishing death on someone but still, HE ALWAYS HAS SOMETHING TO SAY and it drives me crazy.

Its a similar situation to the Michigan kid, people need to realize these are young kids, some FAR from home and its completely uncalled for to say the things they do.

There are bigger things in life and I feel terrible.

Really wish this kid could have turned it around.

But you do see the irony, right?

You're using this death to push your agenda by degrading CBB and saying that, since he's an awful person with a fat mouth, he's going to use this death to push his agenda.

So... what does that make you?

I mean I guess? I'm defending Altee and his decision and think it was wrong for what Brett and fans have said in the past regarding kids leaving, specifically him.

Simply bringing up the point that there are bigger things in life and stuff like this can always happen, so keep it in perspective when someone decides to play freaking football at another school.

If that's my agenda, then hell yes I am pushing it. I guess I could have delivered it better but it's just a message board, I didn't know this was his virtual memorial service.

Not sure why people think its so wrong to discuss issues when tragedies happen. But thats just me I guess. I'll let it at that and wish the best for his family and hope he finds peace in the next life.

Bret is completlty right about kids leaving the state. It hasn't worked well for them in the past.

However, these comments were made before the tragedy so that makes them irrelevant regarding this situation.
It's not like he called a press conference to say "see I told you so".
