Gonna be a lot of pissed off message boards if BA is still #1 after spring.

A summer of bitching, can't wait.

Its up there with the "true PG" talk in basketball.

Its amazing how people can over value each position in the systems in place for both programs.

I fully think that Brandon will start personally but I wouldn't be upset if he gets beat out. I just don't see Peavey adjusting to the speed of the game this quickly. SWMO football is just not that good at all.

Who is going to knock him off? The only option would be Peavy and I doubt that he sees the field.

A Allen or Duwop, just because both red-shirted last year doesn't mean they are not viable options.

Just as when Peavey redshirts this year, it doesn't mean he needs to be looking to transfer next spring.

It took Wilson three years before he was ready to start.

He looked like garbage his true freshman year.

Yep. I think you'll see the same with Peavey. In addition to the lesser competition, he also didn't play a ton because Bolivar was always blowing people out. He also didn't throw it a ton because again Bolivar was blowing people out. Unless I'm drastically wrong but I think he needs a year of just solid reps before being thrown in to the fire.

Yeah, they should have the O-line and RBs to make up for the QB play for a TFrosh (like 06), the biggest issue on offense is if they have the WRs.

The defense is no where near capable of carrying the team and bailing out freshmen mistakes from the position like the 2006 squad.

Practice notes from Otis:

**Grady Ollison has moved to OG so he will have a chance to start
**Brandon Allen said that Cody Hollister is a good possession WR and Jared is a quick receiver expects both to help
**Jonathan Williams said that the entire team is wanting to put on pads. He said Kody, Chris Jones and Patrick Arinze are all working at FB. Coach Chaney also told me that the fullbacks are doing well, but you really don't know anything til you put pads on.
**J-Will said he was fine with not scrimmaging as much per Coach B , but he said if they want him to that is great with him. He said whatever the team needs.
**Coach Chaney said the first day on Sunday the tight ends really caught it well. Today he said ball was on groud too much

@NWARobbie: Quick football note from interviews: OC Jim Chaney said reps aren't evenly distributed at QB right now. Brandon Allen getting more this week

@NWARobbie: Chaney: "We’ll continue down that path for a little while as long as we possibly can or until we make some decisions on what we want to do.”

@NWARobbie: Brandon Allen: "It’s definitely a competition at the QB spot. ... I’m doing what I can do to prove that I'm the guy for the job."

Ugly Uncle media:

Chaney said that Brandon Allen is looking good. Way too early to call who will challenge him, but from the way Chaney talked it is Brandon Allen's job to lose.

Brandon said that he is the same weight but he has lost fat and gained muscle and will continue to do so.

Keon Hatcher said that last year had too many guys not knowing what they were suppose to do or where they were suppose to go. This year they are working at knowing and being confident in what they are doing.

Jonathon Williams said that even though he has gotten bigger, stronger and faster that his biggest improvement has been mental. He said that he has spent hours in film study looking at what he can do better. Said that people consider him the big back, but that he believes he is the big play guy as well.

Austin Allen said that being in competition with his brother is nothing new, they've been doing it their whole lives.

Coach Pittman said that Reeve Koehler is looking very good coming off of injury. He said that Luke Charpentier is running with the 1s at center and Boyd is running with the 2s.

Give it time. They didn't actually get to attend practice today. That starts on Thursday. We'll learn about the next Atwater then.

Shameless post. We're doing a roster refresher just so everyone can be up to date on the current players.
