Even with the no contact jerseys, Peavey's escapability in the pocket reminded me of something we havent had since matt jones. Dude can move.

Were we watching the same game? Peavey got sacked like 5 times today.

Just got around to watching it. This D Line with Flowers, Wise, Philon and a Hodge/Jackson is going to be the best we have seen in a long, long time.

Philon is a fricking animal. He's got the power of a DT, the moves of a DE and the speed of a LB. He was out there diving all over the place.

Announcers on TV had Austin Allen and Peavey mixed up on quite a few drives yesterday.

Well on one they called the play dead before he even got touched as he was backing up towards the endzone. Another one he scrambled out of the pocket and braylon mitchell got him. But there were quite a few times he was tangled up with the DL right in his face and spun out of it. I don't think many of those would have taken him down in a real game

It was hard to tell between him and austin though.

Until we get some a decent passing QB and some WRS, our offense would probably be more successful with Peavey/Mitchell running an option offense with two RBs in the backfield.

I'm not even kidding.. I don't see our passing game improving much this season.

I did think Hollister looked good though.

I'm not convinced all the starters and contributors for next season's team are currently on campus...

I don't think so either. I expect there to be a larger than we would like number of freshmen pushing for spots in the two deep.

That's what I'm thinking.

Going to suck to be a "young team" two years in a row, but the next two year's should be nice, then it is a matter of if a redshirt program is put into place like talked about.

Basically, it can either be up and down like every coach since Holtz, or it can steady off with narrower valleys, but hopefully higher peaks.

Not writing this upcoming season off, but it is nothing to get upset or pissed over either.

Who do you guys foresee contributing?

Bijohn
Tretola
Ragnow

Will JoJo make it to campus?

Floyd and Edwards certainly have a chance to crack the rotation.

Maybe not starting, but most likely contributing:
Bijhon
Hedlund obviously
Ramsey
Tretola
Toliver
Jojo if he makes it
Ragnow or Wallace
Maybe Hackett

Hopefully Kraus can redshirt with the emergence of Derby

Out of the last class:

For sure:
Jared Cornelius
Cody Hollister
Bihjon Jackson
JoJo Robinson* if he makes it to campus
Cornelius Floyd
Cole Hedlund
Chris Murphy

Possible
Henre' Toliver
Armon Watts
Jack Kraus
One of the safetys (Liddell, Ramsey, Hackett, Eugene)
One/Two Olinemen (Tretola, Wallace, Ragnow.
Maybe one of the DEs moved to LB, dat size.**

I don't think you will see them as eager/steadfast in redshirting defensive players or skill positions on offense this year like last.

** a joke.

I still think Williams is our best back overall, but Marshall is fricking dynamite. I would have to say that at this point in the spring Collins is the third best back.

I got caught up and didn't get a chance to get over to the RW Game and haven't watched it, but Stoerner was saying as much on the radio this morning. If Collins truly is our 3rd best option at the moment, I feel great about the running game.

Outside of Mallett and Wilson in his first class, Petrino failed miserably at recruiting the position.

Yep, and that's one of the lesser-spoken of flaws from the Petrino era. Mallett was sort of an outlier because he was probably going to come back home anyway in the wake of the Nutt/Mustain departure when he decided to transfer when Rich Rod was hired.

Petrino can be given credit for identifying Wilson's potential, but let's not forget that he also signed Jim Youngblood, Brandon Mitchell, and Jacoby Walker, none of whom finished their eligibility or really ever showed signs of potential, and also signed Brandon Allen.

You can probably drop Chris Murphy from that list... sounds like 'he gone'.
