I hate NIL and the portal as much as anyone, but you have to play the game, unfortunately.

Thoughts on the new Director of Arkansas Edge NIL tweeting out yesterday that “there’s no reason our 2025 class can’t be top 15 if we have a strong NIL. But it’s gonna take everyone in Hog Nation to have a chance.”

If we don’t get a top 15 class, it’s because hog nation didn’t chip in enough?

If I was a Stephens/Hunt/Jones/Lindsey type, there's no way I would give my money to any NIL related to football. Those motherfrickers can KMA as long as Sam Pittman is still around.

I mean I’m glad we finally have someone who’s trying to get people to donate. He’s trying to convince people that if everyone donated we will have a top 15 class. Whether that’s true or not idk but I like that he’s trying to sell the product.

This is not the audience they're targeting. It's the fans that continue to pay out their asses for donations, tickets and travel for a subpar product on the court and field.

Until this administration shows me they GAF about the football and basketball program they won't get shite from me.

Let's argue, well... for the hell of it. It is Leap day afterall, I'll jump...

They are going after the Hunts, Waltons, Lindseys, Zimmers, Morrisions, etal.

But they are also structuring a way that the common fan can contribute 10.00 to 50.00 each with placement of QR codes, flyers, ads, meet and greets, etc.

3.018 Million population in Arkansas... If, 5% if those gave 10.00 a month...we would have an extra 1.5 million a month in our coffers to use. I use the word, "Our" there as a fanatic. that is on top of all other donations... Just 5% bro.

Now get this, we have been griping and complaining the whole time about them not doing more with NIL... Now we are griping because they are doing more with NIL.

Our fanbase is Schizo...

I get what you're saying, but while Pittfail is the Head Coach and Cashachek are the helm, I'd never invest in the football program. There would be no ROI at all, at least with the first one. He hasn't done one thing to make me believe otherwise.

When it comes to donations from the general public, Arkansas doesn't have a chance in this NIL world.

Larger states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Michigan have a huge advantage.

Unless some salary cap is created to keep things fair then small States like Arkansas might as well drop down to a lower classification.

I still think someone needs to start a NIL that’s based on outcomes. Basically as a fan I’d go thru the schedule and place donation amounts for each game. I’d pay more if we beat Bama than I would UAPB, for example.

Then my donation only gets processed if we win. So we don’t win, nobody gets paid.

IMO I think a lot more “average” fans would donate or invest in that type of model.

My deal isn’t that he’s trying to get fans involved. But I think we need to be very careful about saying things like “we’d have a top 15 class if the average Joe fans just donated more money to the program.” I’m sure more NIL money would help but we certainly don’t need the admin/staff to be thinking that is the be all end all when I’m sure getting embarrassed at home to Liberty and BYU has just as much to do with it.

Take the NIL money out of Pittman’s contract for all I care.

State population is completely irrelevant. Texas' population is split into a billion different high major fanbases. Arkansas is unique in only having one. Our fanbase is around the same size as Clemon, Va Tech. Yes there are bigger ones but a lower classification is just crazy talk

But the thing is our recruiting has stayed essentially the same for decades even when we were winning the SEC west or going 11-2 under Petrino, or going 3-9 under Bielema and 2-10 in 2019.

Something has to get players here and they don’t seem that much more interested even when we do win.

State population is absolutely not irrelevant and in fact these programs located in larger states have more fans and money than Arkansas.

If they told the truth then Arkansas fans wouldn't donate and so it is better to tell a lie and get the cash flowing.

Regardless it will be very hard for Arkansas to compete in this outlaw NIL environment.
