I tend to believe Knox wouldn’t want the OTE coach to break the news of his commitment and wants uncertainty when he commits to Arkansas.

I think the framus intersects with the ramistan approximately at the paternostra.

Wonder how many of the players we’re recruiting have been waiting to see what all assistants we bring in before getting serious with us.

Players are apparently driving up their asking price after we announced our NIL budget.

He’s the best shooting guard in the portal. Have read its us or Kentucky.

I have a feeling we are in the middle of a ky vs Arkansas booster war.

That's two players. Need JQ to go ahead and commit while he's here.

Karter Knox, the No. 26 recruit in the 2024 ESPN 100 who had decommitted from Kentucky, has recommitted to John Calipari at Arkansas, he told ESPN on Monday.

"Throughout my whole recruiting process, Coach Cal always said he wants to make me a pro, and I trust that he will do that for me at Arkansas," Knox said. "I also have a great relationship with Coach Kenny Payne, so getting to play for two coaches I admire is a dream come true. I'm looking forward to getting there, getting to work and bringing a winning mentality to Fayetteville."

Payne, the former Louisville head coach, is joining Calipari's staff as associate head coach.

Knox is one of the most aggressive scorers in high school basketball, averaging 22.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 30 minutes in the Overtime Elite League this season. He converted 81 3-pointers in 30 games for RWE, which lost in the decisive Game 5 of the OTE Finals to the City Reapers.

Knox also posted 19.8 points in just 24 minutes per game in the Nike EYBL last spring and summer, making him the No. 1 per-minute scorer in the league -- duplicating a feat he achieved in 2022 (at the 16U level) and 2021 (15U).

He elected to reopen his recruitment after Calipari's decision to depart for Arkansas earlier this month. He has now reunited with the coach who also helped his brother, Kevin Knox, become the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft after one season at Kentucky.

Karter Knox was one of several touted high school seniors -- a group which previously made up the No. 2 recruiting class in college basketball -- who have elected to part ways with Kentucky following Calipari's departure. They all may again join forces in Fayetteville; five-stars Jayden Quaintance and Boogie Fland are still undecided on their future plans, as are four-stars Billy Richmond and Somto Cyril.

All 13 of Arkansas' scholarship players from last season have either exhausted their eligibility, entered the transfer portal or are departing for the NBA draft, leaving Calipari a fresh slate.

Kentucky freshman Zvonimir Ivisic became Arkansas' first commitment via the transfer portal.

NEWS: Karter Knox, a five-star recruit and one of the most aggressive scorers in high school basketball, has recommitted to John Calipari at Arkansas, he told ESPN.

Karter Knox is the first player in Nike EYBL history to lead the 15U, 16U and 17U age-groups in per-minute scoring in three consecutive summers. He made 80 3s in 30 games this season with OTE, averaging 22 points per game.

Riverview (Fla.) Overtime Elite four-star small forward and former Kentucky commit Karter Knox has committed to Arkansas.

The 6-foot-6, 211-pounder has once again pledged to head coach John Calipari and is set to follow the Hall of Fame skipper from Lexington to Fayetteville. Knox was the first member of UK’s 2024 class to decommit following Calipari’s departure and was committed to the Cats for less than a month.

Knox is the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 8 SF in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He checks in at No. 19 overall in the On3 Top 150.

He is the brother of former Kentucky standout and NBA forward Kevin Knox — who also played under Calipari. Karter, a McDonald’s All-American, has developed a solid relationship with Calipari and is now his first high school commit at Arkansas.

“You know, he is like another uncle,” Knox said of Calipari to On3’s Jamie Shaw. “He is a good guy to talk to off the court if you have a problem or anything. He’s very serious on the court, but off the court, he is like your uncle at the cookout. He has all the stories and you know he is going to tell you everything.”

Karter Knox Scouting Summary
On3 writes this about Knox as a prospect:

“Karter Knox is a lengthy and explosive wing. His frame is very projectable and already physically developed, and he has broad shoulders with arms that flow down; should add good weight relatively easily once he gets to a college strength and conditioning program. He is a straight-line driver off the bounce. Gets into the paint and violently attacks the rim, playing way above it. He plays well out of the dunker spot, is an apt back door cutter, and attacks the offensive boards. Would like to see him develop the jump shot more, at least become average in the catch and shoot. The form and release are ok, balance points and trajectory are inconsistent.

…He is a strong straight-line driver, needs to develop a counter or two if he gets his path cut off. There is a lot of upside defensively. He has great length with quick twitch and explosion. Can switch down a line up and guard fours also the athleticism to run with twos and threes. Will need to continue tightening the mechanics and keeping a consistent motor. Is the younger brother of NBAer Kevin Knox.”

A week after landing its first transfer commitment in big man Zvonimir Ivisic, Arkansas picked up its first class of 2024 prospect under head coach John Calipari in four-star forward Karter Knox according to multiple reports on Monday.

A 6-foot-5, 226-pound wing from Georgia, Knox originally chose Kentucky over offers from Louisville, Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas, Texas and others.

"The last two weeks, I've spent time with my family to figure out my next steps," Knox said in a statement following his commitment. "I've decided to commit to the University of Arkansas and play for Coach Calipari.

"Throughout my whole recruiting process, Coach Cal always said he wants to make me a pro, and I trust that he will do that for me at Arkansas. I also have a great relationship with (Kenny Payne), so getting to play for two coaches I admire is a dream come true. I'm looking forward to getting there, getting to work and bringing a championship to Fayetteville."

The younger brother of former Kentucky standout and current NBA player Kevin Knox II, Karter brings a true three-level scoring punch to the Razorbacks' roster with a frame built for the physical SEC. In fact, it's one trait that Calipari specifically pointed out as crucial for potential recruits.

"Physical toughness and physicality matter more now than ever before," Calipari said on April 10. "Now, you can have freshmen, but they better be physically tough."

Knox's father — Kevin Knox — was once a professional athlete in the NFL and and spoke to CatsIllustrated about his son's fit in Calipari's offensive scheme.

"When I saw him before he had a different type of offense from the years past," Knox's father said on on March 9. "But we talked about the Dribble Drive, and bringing it back: Getting downhill, and attacking, getting to the free throw line, and just putting pressure on the rim. Using that type of Dribble Drive, and putting pressure on the rim, and now be able to kick out to open people.

"In the words of Cal, ‘This is tailor made for Karter Knox.’ He is a big guy like him who is going downhill, and who doesn’t mind contact. He can get to the free throw line, and now being able to shoot it like he can you can only imagine putting a person like Antonio Reeves in a big body. They didn’t even have anybody on the roster this year that weighs as much as Karter that is a guard."
