A town of less than 1k has put out more top flight talent than damn near all of NWA.

Since 2002 seriously? I think your numbers may be off.

Mitch Mustain- UA/USC
Damian Williams- UA/USC- NFL
Bartley Webb- Notre Dame
Ben Cleveland-UA
Zack Pinalto-NC-NFL
Andrew Norman- Louisville-UA-Tulsa
Aston Glaser- Missouri
Alex Tejada- UA- mexicans count

That is just the kids that played on the 05 Springdale team that got D-1 offers. I don't understand how you can say the talent is overrated because of the competition, when the NWA teams play the other teams in non-conference and playoffs.

I seriously doubt Byran Jones lined up agaist 300lb offensive tackles every friday night while he was at JC. Earle,Rison,Bearden,Strong,Hampton,Spring Hill,Wood Lawn,Parkers Chapel,Hermitage and Gurdon are not exactly known for putting players in the SEC or NFL on a yearly basis.

Keep in mind the demographic of NWA is changing.
It is not just mexicans and marshallese, Springdale has recieved it's share of Katrina transplants too.

Mitch Mustain- Bust
Damian Williams- Solid Career at USC
Bartley Webb- Injuries
Ben Cleveland- okay hog
Zack Pinalto- undrafted free agent. Practice squad guy
Andrew Norman- fill in the blank
Aston Glaser- 4th string at Mizzou. Left for Missouri State and started.
Alex Tejada- yea.......

Do you not see that you're proving my point here?

Strong, Bearden, and Junction City pump out some athletes Broseph.....

Petrino didn't offer a freshman all American RB out of Strong two years ago. Junction City will send up their 3rd UA kid in about 4-5 years in next years class and they have a junior RB who will be highly recruited. We signed a kid two years ago from Bearden and then Petrino let a solid DE head out of state to Stillwater.

I may live in NWA, but those poor folks down south can play some football.

Maybe SAU and UA should swap locations.

Why?

I just hope Coach B will offer some of those kids. I really wanted to see Dixon up here.

I've said this before but if you could keep everything about the university the same and put it in the Southwest corner of the state then Arkansas would probably be a top 15 program all-time. We would be so close to an obscene amount of football talent. Location is the only thing that's holding us back.

So is this what this board has come to?

If proven wrong, posters turn into smart asses and avoid any legit conversation?

NWA talent playing in the mirage of a conference, 7A West, is a farce. It's sad that Brey Cook is about the best prospect we've gotten out of 7A NWA football.

Some of you can get defensive all you would like, but the proof is in the pudding. Heaven forbid we ever offer another QB from up here.

I'm not avoiding a legit conversation. I listed players from one year and one team. I am fully aware of the talent spread out in the rest of the state. I know they can play football.

There is tons of talent sitting on thier couch playing xbox in Little Rock right now. The other parts of the state are not filling the roster at the UofA like they have in the past.

The problem is not competition, it's economics. The money is in NWA. If you have a 10 year old son, he can play football year round in Springdale,in Pine Bluff maybe 2 months.

Our oldest played at Springdale with Smothers. I've been around the state and seen the facilities at the other schools, it's not close to NWA.

The money has nothing to do with it.

For example....Junction City...small school, terrible facilities, but not only do they win 2A state titles, they're known for winning weightlifting titles....weightlifting titles isn't just small schools though....it's all classes

7-on-7 is everywhere, not just NWA. Spring football is everywhere, not just NWA.

The group you listed were all flops for the most part, which proved my point.

Junction City wins state weightlifting crown

RUSSELLVILLE – Regardless of where or who it's competing against, Junction City knows how and expects to win.

Saturday at the state weightlifting meet Junction City only added to that reputation.

Behind stellar performances by Demarcus Kemp, Grantel Kennedy, and Byran Jones the Dragons won both the Class 2A and overall state weightlifting championships.

"We had a great day," said a jubi lant David Carpenter. "The young men got out there and just took care of business. They did well and we’re all very happy about winning another state title."

On a team which had several out standing performances, Kemp had the best day. He finished first in the 132 pound division as he broke three state records. Ironically, all of which he already owned.

He lifted 290 in the bench which was 20 pounds more than his pre vious state record. In the power clean Kemp maxed out at 250, which surpassed the former record by 10 pounds. He totaled out at 540 pounds the former top mark was 525.

Kennedy performed well in the 220 pound division.

The senior topped out at 370 in the bench, 295 in the power clean and had a total of 655 which set a state record.

As for Jones, he represented Junction City very well in the heavy weight division.

He had a bench press of 390 pounds, set a state record in the power clean with a lift of 330 pounds and he had a total of 720.

Other lifters were Damian Clark, Hayden Smith, Sam Thurlkill, Paris Nelson, Alan Turner, Denzel Hayes, and Deverrick Wright. The alternates were Laney Bryan, Dustin Howell, Ashley Bailey, Jacob Thurlkill, Justin Cole, and Devin Ball.

For Junction City, this is its third consecutive Class 2A state weightlifting crown and the second time in three years it has won the overall state championship.

"They did what we thought they would do," said Carpenter. "We had everything planned on how we were going to do things and it went as expected. So we’re very happy with how they did."

Just hard for me to think money in NWA gives our kids up here any benefit....something is missing up here and I think it's the competition and only competing with 16 teams for a state title.
