We have seen that Bret isn't afraid to give an assistant coach his walking papers if he isn't cut out for the job.

There's one in particular we're waiting for.

Morons on Hogville need access to an exclusive tool called Google. Buh is a solid hire.

They were convinced that Orgeron was the best DC available last year.

Based on his experience as a DC.

I thought replacing this position might have been the reason for travels out west, but I will Leavitt at that.

Where is his area of focus in recruiting?

Past stops have been the southwest, the majority of the time, basically starting around Houston and to the west.

Didn't take long to pick him up after Shannon left, CBB probably knew Shannon was leaving for a while and already had Buh lined up. Just waiting until after bowl game.

We have 2 sec teams making big name, big money hires. If they can do it for DC then we should do it for lber coach. B is a d coach who has 2 years of experience in the sec under his belt. My worry is how well will he mesh with the rest of the d staff

Looks like a solid hire to me. I think way too much is put on names during assistant hires, I was stoked when we got Shannon but I don't think he is as big a loss as a lot of people think. Besides, after the Robb Smith hire, Bert gets the benefit of the doubt.

I'd give most of the credit of our improvement at LB to Smith. Those same guys were pretty bad last year under Shannon and Ash.

They were.

I thought his worth was in recruiting, but appears Partridge was given the proper credit during the first class and Shannon was give way to much by the fans for the work done in SFL.

Seems like CBB and staff recruited well in Florida while at Wisconsin. Coach Shannon wasn't on any of those staffs. Buh's a solid hire. Outstanding really. Harping on the Cal failure...I mean really, when has Cal ever been known for anything other than the occasionally good offense?
