With Mizzou out, the top five 5-win teams by APR are Nebraska (985), K-State (976), Minnesota (975), San Jose St. (975) & Illinois (973).

So, look for K State possibly against AR in the Liberty if we go there... or WV.

Since WV was there last year....

Really hope we get Music City Bowl. But I'm sure we'll get hosed there and end up getting our fans shot at in Memphis.

I realize we match up well with them but Kansas State does nothing for me. WVU would be cool but yeah I doubt they go back to back.

We really need to reeducate our fans on this.

The liberty and music city are now on equal status as for tiered bowls...

The only bowl that are lower than the above 2 are the Indy and Birmingham.

FWIW!

You work all season to become bowl eligible and then get stuck playing a team with a losing record.

That would really suck.

This is the kind of thing that starts happening when greed can just bitch slap reason.

The towns that host each are far from equal...

No offense to Memphis, but I grew up near there and it's a craphole. I'd walk to Nashville before I drove to Memphis. Hm....I guess that was in offense to Memphis.

Has nothing to do with Liberty vs. Music City. Has everything to do with the city in which it's located.

frick I forgot we played them only a few years ago.

They had their heisman finalist QB and all.

If we are going to have to play and APR eligible bowl team, my vote is Nebraska.

K-State is one of the teams I wouldn't want to play. Regardless of their schedule results, Bill Snyder is a good coach and could put together a scheme to make that a very tough game.

We may wind up in Nashville against Petrino... Lord I hope not.

I don't want to play BP when he has time to work his offense against our craptattic secondary.

I would guess still Music City or Liberty...

Liberty placed a list that asked for 1. Arkansas 2. Tenner

against big 12
1. Texas Tech
2. WV
3. Kansas State...

We will know Sunday evening for sure..

This is my worst nightmare, because it's pretty much a lose-lose scenario. If we play them, I'll be a complete nervous trainwreck in the lead up to the game and wouldn't be able to enjoy it or the trip, and would only be able to rest easy as we're taking tMercy Knee.

If we lost, I'd loathe Bert with every fiber of my being for all eternity.

As much as I hate Petrino and as much as Louisville looks like they suck this year, I want no part of them given how terrible our pass defense is. Like you said, the thought of Petrino having close to a month to prepare for our defense makes me nauseous.

On a different note, why is everyone crapping on the notion of playing Kansas State? They suck this year and their offense is quite literally the only type of offense our defense can stop. I'll take any matchup that gives us the best chance to get to 8 wins and have momentum going into the offseason.

Preach brother, preach. The thought of playing a wide open passing attack from a team like WVU or Louisville does not fill me with holiday cheer.

We won't be getting a top team to play this season with our record. That being the case I defer to Paul "Bear" Bryant... if you are going to play a p@$$y, make sure its a p@$$y you can beat.

because Kansas State is just a boring matchup. I'd much rather take our chances with Louisville if it meant possibly beating the shite out of Petrino.

Who gives a shite about whether or not it's an entertaining matchup? It's Hog football, that should be intriguing enough.

The Texas team we played in Houston last year was the worst UT team in memory and we beat them like a drum. That gave us confidence and momentum heading into the offseason (granted, we didn't exactly take advantage of it coming into 2015). That was entertainment for me, and I'd like to do the same with a team like KSU that doesn't play to our defensive weaknesses.

I'll take a matchup with Louisville provided that Bert and the staff are living at the facility and putting in 32 hour days to prepare for Petrino and working to get our pass defense straightened out. However, if we lost to Bobby Petrino, I'd have to go live in a bus in Alaska like that guy in Into The Wild

i smell chicken houses in this thread. bagock bagock.

bring on bp and louisville. if my memory serves me right we sucked in bowls and even after bye weeks with him outside of when we played ksu. and that game it was the defense that stood out more to me than the offense anyway. the best call he made was punting and pushing them back which changed the momentum of the game.

And another thought, there are 2 very good Jr College programs in KS right?

GoEmaw fans travel well, Snider was a mentor of sorts to Bert, Might make for a nice matchup..

Just like Feral, no, no, NO to BP please...

Meh, he was 2-1 in bowls here with the loss being the "shoulda won" Sugar Bowl against OSU. Of course, you could also argue (and I have) that the Liberty Bowl was a "shoulda lost" because we tried our best to give that game to ECU but their kicker pulled a Leigh Tiffin and kept missing FGs.

ETA - you're right though, he wasn't great coming off of bye weeks here. He was 2-3, with one win coming against A&M and the other being the near-loss at Ole Miss in Nutt's final season there.
