I really feel like this is going to be a steal. He's quick for his size.

Tardville is already wondering if he can play linebacker.

Kid already said they are talking to him about being a 2nd and 3rd down hand on the ground pass rusher.

He must be 6-2", 240, 4.4 40, and drives a Mack truck. You know the prototypical linebacker.

Does Arkansas hold a lot of camps during the summer?

Nope. It's a big frustration amongst our fanbase and probably the biggest gripe folks have towards Bielema when it comes to recruiting.

What's the deal? I guess the state doesn't produce a ton of talent but still.

Bielema says he doesn't like the big camp environment because it's not personal. He prefers to bring kids in small groups over the summer or for 1 on 1 visits. The problem with that theory is they don't do a lot of these either.

I'm not sure if any coach could get a bunch of elite talent up here in the summer just due to location but some of us would like to see them at least try. We're the only SECW school that doesn't have a recruiting service setup shop on campus for an elite camp during the summer and that gets frustrating at times.

Just set up satellites at Jerry's world from now on. I guess you can look at that both ways from his POV.

Bert is actually kinda lazy in recruiting. I guess it's efficient, but the ROI leaves more to be desired.

We're in a spot to have to outwork and outhustle other programs. This time off he's big on during the off-season will likely be his Achilles heel here.

And he's still out recruiting all of the coaches here before him. Crazy to think about that.

The real judge of him will be in a couple of years. He's made his career on his uncanny ability to develop underrated talent. He's getting significantly better talent here than he did at Wisconsin. So if his development holds up, he could keep improving here. That's my hope at least.

I'd say that Nutt's homeboys were even lazier.

Petrino just couldn't close, they certainly chased higher end talent. You'd think a guy like Petrino that can close on young puss would have some skills to finesse parents and lie enough to get some top guys but the hillbilly stigma seemed to be too much to overcome on a lot of those primadonna recruits.

Yeah it'd be fun to be in on a bunch of Top 100 guys and have the back and forths on here and get excited about hauling in extremely talented players, but I'm cool w/ Bert's approach. The margin of error is much lower however and we've all seen plenty of highly touted guys never reach their potential.

I think I'd rather have 30 of those types whose production even when being a relative bust is higher than 30 guys who are going to have to have everything work out just right in their favor to even have a ceiling where Top 5 type recruits bottom out.

alas, that's the life of the underdog and being a Razorback fan. No one ever said it'd be easy loving Arkansas.
