if this staff can't get a decent running back they will be a total failure. you are known for your running offenses and can't get a single running back.

It really is perplexing. I think Bert's got a bit of the hubris, he keeps going on about loving to develop talent.

I think that's an excuse for not wanting to recruit hard.

Somehow they got studs at RB at Wisconsin, but can't sign a bluechip here?

frick RD. Had a feeling he was printing bullshite.

RazorHawg brought something interesting up the other day when he and I were talking. He noticed that RD and Otis both had the exact same quotes from Whaley in their articles that said we were the leader. Definitely something fishy going on with how they get these quotes. A kid might tell two reporters that he has a leader but he isn't going to say it the exact same word for word. They're getting fed this info somehow.

something is definitely weird. I can't figure out why we can't get 1 RB. not 1 single RB since AC.

Yeah UGA with Chubb was a top 10 team and would have cruised to the East title. It's a good sell to a RB.

we need to milk this for all its worth Porter..

I just done understand why we haven't been able to get the cream of the crop, We need some bag men with deeper pockets to butter up these recruits. All of the hoopla CBB espouses is getting quite damn cheesy.

RWIII looked mighty good.

Sad with the injury. I really wonder if he should even try again. If it was my kid, I would be very reprehensive.

I'm assuming he meant apprehensive.

Lets be honest about RWIII too.

Ole Miss pushed him out because they signed 2 or maybe 3 other RB's that were ranked higher.

We lucked into him for some reason being discounted for playing in small school division ball in the Metroplex.

All last season we'd see him rip off 300+ yard games and scream where's his 4th star? He never got it, had he gotten that 4th star some other school would've swooped in and got him.

Now he may never play football again.

We've never had a shot at the kid that lived in Jonesboro for a year or two.

Now we're an Air Raid offense that can't run the ball when we have to. The identity we think we are isn't what we actually are on the field.

Couldn't keep KJ b/c we never throw, now we throw all the time and don't run enough to get a couple top RB's.

I love the underdog identity of the program but it's getting kinda stale and old and negatively affects recruiting. The fanbase could chill out for a minute too.

Correct. I do get a kick out of the folks that think we'll easily flip Pennamon from Ole Miss because they actually believe we flipped RW3.

Mitchell tore his Achilles and may never live up to his star ranking.

That had nothing to do with it. We threw more than tOSU last year. That was just the bullshite excuse they used to cover the decommitment.

btw I'm very proud of everyone on this board for not mentioning KJ at all. Appears he's redshirting, he's not produced anything on the stat sheets or looks to have gotten a second of game time.

I'm very proud as well that no one has pointed out Josh Frazier looking like a bust at this point.

Ole Miss let RW3 go after getting Eric Swinney from Georgia.

Those schools did come calling like a week before signing day. He got offers from Stanford and Ok state. Some have said Baylor and A&M offered in January but he told them he wasn't interested so they moved on.

The Denzel Mitchell kid I'll be surprised if Ole Miss signs him.

KJ's entire situation was the stepdad and step uncle being in awe of the glamour, glitzy type program irregardless if the kid doesn't get snaps.

There was more to it than just that.

Bert has yet to not have a running back go for 1000 yards

Nobody should be worrying about our running back recruiting. But people seem to enjoy worrying for some reason.
