Well, that's just not true.

I thought that Kahn Cotton was his "street agent." Now you're calling his step dad a "street agent" too?

How much does he really help?
If we land him, I still have concerns over Kingsley and Thompson being scoring threats down low. Allen certainly will give us a boost no doubt, but I wish he was 6'9"

Guards win more than bigs in this day and age of college hoops, especially come March.
We won't need much scoring wise down low, Kingsley chips in 6-10 points fine, just grab that 10-15 boards and block the 3-5 shots he's already capable of. Williams can hit the mid range jumper fairly well and can contribute enough, but he has been a terrible rebounder on both ends, that has to get way better. The good news there though? Ted Kapita. What can Ted do very well right now? Rebound, pound the glass, physical as all hell type of player. Just what we need.
If we rebound well, get just enough scoring from down low, with these guards we'll have, we'll be better than last year (maybe not year 1 with Whitt/Allen, but year 2 absolutely).
I'd rather wait until we for sure get Allen to talk too much about it, but a lineup of
Beard
Bell
Allen
Williams
Kingsley
is nasty. Bench depth of Kapita, Hannahs, Whitt, Durham, Watkins, and maybe a step up from Thompson. Would love another big, but with this system, will be fine as is. Guards with supreme talent across the board, and deep as can be.

I worry about Kapita's recovery and how well he will be able to move in his first year here.
I guess I don't trust J.Williams much. He hit that mid range jumper well at the start of the season but really struggled from mid season on, I thought.
With our guards, we should definitely see more penetration which will help against the zone everyone likes to throw at us. Penetrating will also help our 3 ball shooters on kick outs.
If we land Allen we certainly can have as good a season next year as we had this season, but I'll hold out hope on Williams becoming more consistent on that mid range jumper and Kingsley adding something to his offensive arsenal.

Also, landing Allen would bump our class up to 14th on 247

Oh he fell off a cliff, but he's improved every year here, and he will as a senior.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see much zone at all because of this. Beard will only be better overall too.

Ebuka Izundu commits to Miami.

Heck, we certainly have need for another front line recruit.
Williams lost his jump shot last year. If he can get it back, he will fill the void, but his mechanics are not good, so I don't look for him to shoot over 45% next year, which is a losing stat for a forward depended upon to score.

A perfect scenario is Kingsley becoming a rebounding machine and a great finisher at the rim, Thompson providing a good 10 min per game and Kapita being fully healthy and ready to roll.
But that's a perfect world...

Portis' Mechanics are not good, but that hasn't prevented him from being a good shooter...
Williams loses his shot when he hurries his shot, its all about slowing down for him and letting the game come to him instead of forcing the issue.

I was happy with Kingsley's improvement last year, but I'm not sure about that expectation. The kid's got a ton of heart and hustle, but I worry that his ceiling isn't too much higher or has already been reached.
Also I know you said a perfect scenario, just not sure I'm ready to rely on Kingsley that much just yet

We don't have a choice but to expect a lot out of Moses.

There is no other choice going forward.
For this team to be a success we are going to have to lean on Kingsley. He doesn't have to put up Portis numbers, but he needs to finish at the rim and rebound.
We will have to get more penetration next season, and most certainly will if we do in fact land Allen. He has to be that guy that can finish when the defense collapses on the penetrating guards.

Arkansas could be in line to possibly recruit an honorable mention National Junior College Athletic Association small forward if his release is granted. Ullin (Ill.) Shawnee Community College's Justin Leon, 6-7 3/4, 200, is originally from Conway.
Leon just played two years at Shawnee and signed with Louisiana Tech in the late signing period. He also had offers to such schools as Murray State and Missouri State. He averaged 21.5 points and 10 rebounds per game this season. He scored 31 points in a game twice and pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds in one game.
Louisiana Tech has hired Eric Konkol who was a former assistant coach at Miami (Fla.). When Leon signed with Tech, Michael White was the head coach, but he has since left for Florida. Shawnee Coach John Sparks talked about Leon's pending recruiting on Tuesday.
"He has asked for his release," Sparks said. "He will meet with the new coach sometime this week and then meet with me. He will then decide if he wants to stick with Louisiana Tech or get his release. Of course the new coach is going to try to re-recruit him."
No schools can talk to Leon until he is granted his release. Leon was about 6-5 when he played at Conway, but has grown basically three inches at Shawnee.
"He's another animal now," Sparks said. "He plays out on the wing and can hit the 3-pointer."

A little undersized for LB, I like mine 6'2" 240, might be a safety.
