Mabey the bigger schools or schools with a football program.
Not speaking for all the schools in the state but even at the physical education level its a joke. There is no accountability for high school students.
Please tell me if I'm wrong or what the state standards are. Again I didn't go to school here. Our standards were 2 different types of PE. One we called Ghetto PE with a teacher that still made all the kids do activities. Or Athletic PE where we lifeted Mon, wed, and Friday. Ran the mile on Tuesday and Thursday for time. If ANY student didn't dress 3 days/quarter they were dropped and PE was required.
Is this a problem of why there is low talent in the state?

I grew up in MO, but a smallish town of about 9-10K and a Class 3 football program, decent weight room I guess, nothing special but not bad.
If you were in a sport whether it was football/basketball/baseball/tennis whatever, it was mandatory you took a class called "Weights".
We would lift Mon/Weds/Fri and run/agility on Tues/Thurs. If you had a game that day, you sat there and watched or did a very light workout.
You had to track in a notebook your starting results, and each month you had to progress to the next level. So if you benched 200 15 times you needed to be able to bench at least 205+ 15 times by the end of the month, etc.
Then you had your sports practice after school on top of that.

That's roughly similar to how we did things in my 2A hometown in East Texas. Started in 7th grade.
Regardless, I never saw the results because I ate like shite. When I moved out and actually worried about my fuel, things got better for me in the weight room.
I suspect Gragg and thousands of other high school athletes are taking in the right fuel even if they are lifting.

All the Class A basketball only schools in NWA and the river valley have weight training equipment.

Here from middle school on up athletics are lifting weights and running when off season.
Small AA school I graduated from participates in state weightlifting meet and usually finishes high in the top 10 overall regardless of classification, beating a lot of 4A, 5A, 6A and 7A schools. Finished 3rd overall a couple of years ago, only smaller/sameish size school to beat them was Junction City I believe.

Pretty good prospect for Pinkel's offense IMO

Yeah seen he is coming for a visit and didnt know much about him. Thanks

Most years he would easily get an offer from the Hogs but with Storey instate and already committed we won't recruit him. He's definitely a BCS caliber QB.

Seems to be trending toward Cincy. You won't have to fight us though. With Storey on board there's no way we offer. Ole Miss might though.

Anyone know if Fat Bert has hired an on campus recruiting coordinator to fill Hauser's role yet? Because I've not seen shite about on campus visits and a scrimmage open to the public today would've been a good time for some visits.
Hauser's job seems like a pretty damn important one to keep open for 2 months +.

No one hired yet but there were at least 7 recruits on campus today.
C.J. O'Grady, TE Fayetteville
Darius Peterson, OT, Hutchinson CC, Kansas, 6-6, 285
Daytrieon Dean, DL, FS Northside
Deontre Hardwick, LB, FS Northside, 2016
Ty Storey, QB, Charleston
Josh Moore, TE-DE, Kansas
Marquavius Lewis, DE, Hutchinson CC, Kansas

What ever happened to Jalen Cobb? What happened to him at juco?

Got hurt and flamed out, flunked out. I don't think he even made it a year there.
Same for the 6'5 WR from Camden except he led them in receiving and was really showing promise and was pretty much a Hog lock if he got an offer. Never came back for his soph. year. He almost had 1,000 yards receiving catching balls from AJ Derby.
Here's Derby's juco stats which should cause worry if he's closed the gap w/ Austin Allen for the back up. LINK
Pushing Mitchell out the door for his buddy's kid who just completed less than 50% of his passes at JUCO was one of Fat Bert's first mistakes and we really have a group of shitty QB's on campus. I don't think that we see the improvement we want until that gets changed, and I'm steadfast in my opinion that it might not change unless we go get a QB guru to coach the position.

Literally every QB on campus is a 4 star.

Its AA closing the gap with Derby for the two spot, not the other way around...

Mitchell wasn't going to amount to anything as far as the win column last year, he wouldn't be on campus this year. Long Term vs Short Term, BA playing last year with a back up for two years is better than a new inexperienced QB each year...

Pushing Mitchell out the door
He didn't push Mitchell out the door. Brandon was going to transfer if he wasn't named starter whether the coach was Petrino, JLS or Bielema. The kid wanted one last shot at playing QB and possibly getting drafted. I can't blame him one bit for leaving. I would too if I was graduating and could transfer free and clear for one last year.
