Thanks man.

I really hope we pull the trigger on Storey this summer before Malzahn can sink his teeth in to him. That kid is going to be big-time.

Updated the offers.

Note on Kevin Shorter I didn't know. He lives with DJ Dean.

Also, Josh Frazier' lead recruiter left Bama today for the NFL.

Him and Dean are also cousins but he says they are more like brothers.

He has family in Arkansas although I can't remember where.

Also their HS coach and his wife are both from Arkansas.

12/7/2012: Kevin Shorter ran for 275 yards and 4 TD on only 14 carries in a 49-13 win over Franklin

damn. sounds like another Korliss Marshall diamond in the rough. But apparently we aren't the only one that found him as Baylor, Georgia, Oklahoma, and A&M have offered him as well.

Also, 247 says he's a composite 4* but I can't find any other service that rates him a 4*. The only one I can find that rates him at all is 247 and they have him at a 3*. Not that any of that matters. I like our chances with him.

I hope he becomes a Hog. He goes to my alma mater and his dad was my high school football coach, and is now the high school principal. It's pretty cool seeing a local kid becoming a big shot from such a small town.

There will be several players on campus this weekend. I know Chuks Ota, Kavin Alexander and Sam Christian are coming.

Eta: Juan Day as well.

Miami commitment and offensive lineman Trevor Darling, 6-5, 310, 5.3 of Miami Central said he's been talking to Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman and is interested in the Hogs and wants to take an official visit to Fayetteville. He said Pittman is very easy to talk to. He said the Hogs signing offensive lineman Denver Kirkland and running back Alex Collins from the area got his attention and increased his in Arkansas. He has a 3.5 GPA and is considering studying medicine or business in college. Darling said he's committed to Miami but wants to explore his options.

Linebacker Richard Yeargin, 6-4, 230, 4.6 of Ft. Lauderdale, (Fla.) University high school said he will definitely make an official visit to Arkansas if he doesn't visit this spring or summer. The Hogs offered him on Monday. He said defensive line coach Charlie Partridge was the first to offer him after his sophomore season while he was at Wisconsin. He now has more than 20 offers. Has a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in business and eventually become a defense attorney.

Jabe Burgess visited campus this morning. He is Greenwood's QB and Tyler Wilson's cousin.

quote:

Greenwood Jabe Burgess visited Arkansas for about three hours. The first thing he talked about was the coaches, Bret Bielema, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and tights ends coach Barry Lunney Jr.

He spent about 20 minutes talking to Bielema in his office and said the head Hog is very down-to-earth and a great guy. He was told Arkansas would only take one quarterback in the 2014 class but will continue to recruit him.

He spent about 45 minutes with Chaney and talked a lot of football and was told he would come watch him during spring practice. He said Chaney and Bulldog Coach Rick Jones are very similar.

QB has got to be the toughest position to recruit, so few slots and there's a lot of really good kids coming out of our areas.

You can't afford to take too many fliers, it seems the transfer rate on QB's is pretty high too.

Its a good problem to have though. Worst case scenario if Peavey decommits; we have three candidates in NWA alone to replace him.
