At first I was excited because it appeared to be #2 OSU vs. #3 Clemson, meaning we could knock out one big foe first round without having to play them.

Then I realized, that if Oklahoma wins out, they're going to put them in.

Currently Oklahoma is projected to be in the #4 spot by this model.

If OSU beats Michigan, and either Colorado/USC/Wash. St beat Washington, Oklahoma is going to get the #4 spot.

The one team I don't want to face is Oklahoma at #4. I don't think we're particularly weak against the pass this year, but I still hate them at #4. They'll be on a 9 game winning streak, and Mayfield is putting up Heisman numbers.

I'd much prefer Washington or Colorado or Penn State or just about any other possible #4, but I have a strong feeling it'll end up being Oklahoma.

Yeah, Mayfield would worry me. However, getting them in the semi means Saban has more time to prepare for them. Not that that always means victory.

I could see a scenario where Ohio State falls to 4 in the final ranking and the conference champs are 1-3.

You mean

Alabama
Clemson
Penn State?
OSU

Or

Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma
OSU

shite I meant the second one, but Ohio State beat Oklahoma so with only 1 loss they'd definitely stay ahead of them. I didn't even think of that.

Maybe Washington can win out, or maybe the committee thinks Penn State is more deserving, but I think if they had to choose between two conference champs, they'll choose the one that doesn't put two teams from the same conference in.

Idgaf who we play. I want to play the best, because I know we can best the best.

Also, everyone was hyping Okie last year too until they got punched in the nose by Clemson.

A revenge game against Clemson w/ Watson & solid D worries me more than a Oklahoma team whose defense is questionable.

Yeah I'm still not sold on Oklahomas defense being anything special. I feel like we could run all over them which would keep Mayfield off the field.

There is no getting screwed. We have to play 2 very good teams either way. Let's just whip arse.

True, but I'd rather play the strongest game in the championship. We played the best team in 2014 in the first round. I'd like to have that in the second round.

But you're correct, we should just whip arse either way.

If Bama, OSU/Michigan,Clemson and Washington win out then they are in.

1. Bama
2. OSU/Michigan winner
3. Clemson
4. Washington

OU will be penalized for not playing a conference championship game, so no chance they would pass a one loss conference champ from the other 4 power conferences.

Bama matches upbest with Michigan and Washington, then probably Ohio St, OU and Clemson.

I actually think Washington wins out.

I don't see Oklahoma making it in unless Wisconsin wins the Big 10 and Washington loses.

Then its

Bama
Clemson
Ohio State
Oklahoma

If Penn State and Washington both win out then:

Bama
Clemson
Washington
Penn St

Oklahoma's defense is awful, we would score at will.

I think it is a foregone conclusion that the committee will put in OSU even if they don't win their conference. Which is funny.

I'm not convinced. Can't see Ohio State getting in if Penn State and Washington win out. One conference champ is already not gonna make it....can't see them sitting 2 out just to Ohio State in unless Wisconsin wins the Big 10 title.

Agreed. No way you keep those two out if they win out. You have to reward conference Champs for playing that extra game and winning your conference.

If OSU does make it that means they get an extra week of rest along with not having the wear and tear of another game against a tough opponent. Which pretty much gives them a slight advantage over whoever they play.
