Alabama cross country's Doris Lemngole picked up right where she left off, winning the second individual title of her short Crimson Tide career, this time by clocking 16:05.9 to claim the Women's Blue individual crown Friday morning at the Joe Piane Invitational. The feat marks the second consecutive victory for Lemngole, in only her second ever collegiate race.
Both the No. 22 women's and No. 27 men's UA cross country teams opened the morning with third-place overall finishes. respectively. The team results also marked the third straight top-four result for the women and the third consecutive top-three finish for the men during the 2023 season.
The Crimson Tide women tallied 73 points, led by Lemnogle's first-place finish over the 5,000-meter course. She would be joined by Hilda Olemomoi (eighth) and Joy Gill (11th) who both opened their 2023 season with a top-12 time of their own.
The UA men claimed their third-place finish via an 114-point performance led by the Alabama trio of Hillary Cheruiyot (second), Victor Kiprop (third) and Eliud Kipsang (25th). It was the season-opening race for all three runners, as Cheruiyot (23:10.6) and Kiprop (23:12.3) finished within two to four seconds of the winning, individual time.

After a scoreless first half, the ninth-ranked Alabama soccer team fell 2-1 to Kentucky in a Friday night road game. The loss was just the second of the season for UA as the team moved to 7-2-4 on the year and 1-2-1 in Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky remains undefeated with a 7-0-4 overall record and a 1-0-3 performance in conference.

The freshman opened his collegiate career with a trio of individual wins and a relay victory
Alabama swimmer Tommy Hagar was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Hagar opened his collegiate career with a trio of individual wins and a relay victory against Delta State last Friday. After helping the men's 200 medley relay team to a time of 1:28.02, he swam a 1:48.61 in the 200 butterfly, a 1:45.93 in the 200 backstroke and a 1:51.75 in the 200 individual medley to finish first in all four events.

The Iron Bowl of soccer tomorrow night in Tuscaloosa

Losing Tyynismaa has hurt Bama. That was kind of a weird move to me, but I don't know what was going on behind the scenes. I'm pretty sure she'd have eligibility if she had stayed at Bama.

These are pretty strong times for meet 1 of your college career. Currently 6th in the country in both events, but will say it's crazy early in the season and some teams haven't had a meet yet. Some jackass at ASU already bombed a 1:40 200 fly. That's unreasonable af during September

Over the past two seasons, NC State women’s cross country has been working on a dynasty. The Wolfpack has won back-to-back NCAA national titles, winning the first team championships for the NC State athletics program since the famous Cardiac Pack men’s basketball squad in 1983.
Those were also the first-ever NCAA national titles for a women’s sports team at NC State.

Sedlackova dominated in the singles semifinals match against LSU's No. 117 Aran Teixido-Garcia (6-2, 6-0) after going on a 3-0 and 6-0 run in the first and second sets, respectively. Monday's win marked the furthest Sedlackova has ever made it in an ITA Regional.
