If I still lived over in that area I would have definitely walked my dog by there a few times a day

The Corners cokes with that shaved ice could not be beat. That was the best ice ever. Other than that and it was just a convenience store...

They do have a few gray polos this year. You want some photos?

Whoever owned JD's probably retired off what I spent there. I lived on 17th for a couple years and probably bought something form there every day.
Moved to 7th and went to the Corner from then on out. The Corner takes it for me because my old roommate and I met the guy who played Capt. Harris from the police academy movies there one night. He was in there buying wine and said he was in town doing a voice over job. From that point I never went back to JD's.
Sad that these old places, shitty as they were, are going away for new gentrified stores. Little bit of the flavor from my time there in the late 90's goes away every year.

Corner Store always had cases of Bud and Bud Light longnecks for $9.99.

Too rich for my blood, The Corner won me over with the $7.99 cases of Keystone and Natty Light. If I remember right considering how often I had it, Icehouse was a bargain too.
I remember when I was broke JD's had six packs of Sterling for $1.99. I've never seen that beer anywhere except at JD's in the 90's.
