More places to spend money on gameday. Located on the site of "The Corner" store. LINK

quote:

The two-story, 26,000-square-foot space is located at 807 Bryant Drive between Tutwiler Hall and Eighth Avenue. Just a short walk from Bryant-Denny Stadium, expect high foot traffic between the buildings throughout the 2016 season.

Also features a Starbucks with a second story seating area with a capacity of 36 guests.

Don't know why, but I've always hated the name.

It opened last Friday. Looks good, but that Starbucks is right across from the sororities. Going to be just as packed as the one at the Ferg.

Me too. Is "supe" supposed to be short for supply? If so, shouldn't it be the Sup Store?

IIRC, In its early days it was the Super Supply Store, and students started shortening it to Supe Store. I may be off on that a little, but I do recall "Super" being in their branding years ago.

While they certainly carry some tacky swag, I've always thought the Supe Store had the best selection of more tasteful swag. I generally just like shirts and sweatshirts that simply say "Bama" or "Alabama" on the front, and they've always had a pretty good inventory of those.

I rarely wear Bama swag in public though because I hate getting "Roll Tide'd" by rednecks.

If I had come to the university without a family history there, would I have heard people saying "Supe Store" and thought they were talking about a place that sells soup?

My soul weeps. I lived on 8th Avenue 3 doors down from the corner store and spent thousands of dollars there.

Corner Store was always overrated. JD's > Corner Store 4 life.

I don't know man, that crushed ice and gatorade was damn good Sunday morning after a game.

Although JD's was pretty easy to buy underage.

JD's biggest problem was there would be days when half the beer would be gone.

Ever go to the package store at Hargrove and 10th? It was the jam for getting stuff as a pre-21 year old. It was sketchy as hale, but that was kind of part of the deal.

That's where we bought beer in high school.

Good times.

Classy Tuscaloosa establishment. Soon all the nice, new stuff pushes a few blocks back and it will get torn down. That will be a sad day.

I thought it had closed a few years ago. It used to be(like early 90's used to be) in that building that fronts 10th Ave that is now a church. But then I realized they just moved to a building behind there.

Amazing the ABC hasn't revoked their license. Everyone in town knew they sold to underage kids.
