Former Alabama All-American running back Trent Richardson says he never assaulted the mother of his four children and wants to clear his name from new incident involving his ex-girlfriend earlier this week.

Sevina Fatu was arrested late Monday and charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of criminal mischief for allegedly running her SUV into a vehicle driven by Richardson.

In February, Richardson was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence involving the same woman after she said things turned physical at a hotel in Hoover.

"What's out there isn't the truth," Richardson said in an exclusive interview with AL.com. "I swear I didn't hit her. I was trying to walk away from the situation. I would never hit a female. I look down on people that hit females. I grew up seeing stuff like that in my house. I've had family members go through that, and that's something I would never do.

"There are certain things I can't get into because it's an ongoing case, but it's very important to me that people know my side of the story and at least know that I would never hit a female no matter what the situation is."

Richardson last appeared in an NFL game during the 2014 season with the Indianapolis Colts. He attempted to resurrect his career last fall with the Baltimore Ravens but was waived before the opener.
