Hope he let it sink in this past season at home that this will likely be his last shot.

Hope he trained his arse off in that time frame, because showing up like he did with Oakland will get him cut.

Passion still gotta be there though, he lost something making it to the NFL...

I hope it works out for him so much but I don't have many expectations from him right now.

I really wonder what happened with him. I believe it was something outside of football that messed him up. If Ozzie can't revive him, no one can. I will be rooting for him.

I have no idea why you were downvoted because this is the problem. He could hammer or outrun college players. The league is no place for that strategy.

Everyone was saying he was out of shape in NFL camps. The kid was a gym rat here. Didn't we have to hold him back from lifting too heavy? Something must have happened to kill his drive.

(Besides the obvious - money)

Cleveland maybe?

It appears to be the place careers go to die.

Seriously, I think the money, fame, etc overwhelmed him. He had a respectable rookie year behind a mediocre at best line. Then he seemed to get caught up in the trappings of fame. IIRC, that off season was when the multi-participant sex tap came out. He followed that up with the benching in Indy which seemed to have a big attitude component.

Now he has a reputation to overcome along with the physical challenges. It can be done. All he has to do is look at Ro for proof but he is going o have to work harder than an otherwise equal player to prove his worth and make a roster. Hopefully he can do it.

Probably my favorite running back at Alabama. Maybe ever.

And there've been some mighty good ones.

I'd get so fired up with him churning his feet--with almost the entire defense ganging up on him, pile still moving forward--and they'd blow the whistle--he often wouldn't go down.

That's leading by example and he was HUGE for this team for 3 solid years.

I hope he turns it around.

He's not the first player to get to the NFL, get a big payday, and then fizzle.

Having millions of dollars in the bank can often be a huge sap on desire, drive, and motivation, that was likely a big part of it.

As others have also said, he never adjusted to the competition in the NFL. In college he could often plow into 3 defenders and get 5-6 yards. That doesn't work in the NFL, just about every player on the field is ridiculously strong for their size.

People seem to forget his first year in Cleveland was actually very good, good enough that the Colts were willing to give up a 1st round draft pick for him.

After he got traded to the Colts he was never the same, not even close.

He had two knee surgeries, and was playing with BROKEN ribs. That tends to affect most humans ability to perform at an elite level.

He played through it to prove something, (and not let his team down) but what he should have done was tell everyone to get fricked till he was healthy again.
