Trent Dilfer calls Tua the most gifted passer he's seen at this stage.

Even better than Aaron Rodgers.

quote:

"I’d say he’s probably the most gifted passer I’ve seen at this age,” said Trent Dilfer, who now works as an ESPN NFL analyst. “I worked out with Aaron Rodgers a lot when he was at Cal. Tua throws it better than Aaron Rodgers threw it as a sophomore at Cal-Berkley. That’s not an exaggeration.”

Sounds good. But I think I remember Diller say really great things about Sean White too.

"Think of him as Drew Brees, probably with a better arm. Very, very, very gifted passer."

Better be glad he had a hell of a defense that Superbowl year for the Ravens cause he damn sure wasn't the reason they got there.

He was right, too. When White was healthy he threw beautiful passes. His problem has been constant injury.

I'm not sure how Dilfer praising Tua is a bad thing. Shouldn't we be glad if he turns out to be that good?

To be fair, Trent Dilfer is an arse-clown that says that about one high school QB literally every year.

I always thought that was hilarious, but I misremembered (slightly). Looked it up and the actual quote was:

In fact, here's what Elite 11 expert and former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer had to say about White, according to a report from Tom VanHaaren of ESPN.com: "His accurate isn't just accurate. It's exact. It's an NFL-type of ball. I'm stealing this from Steve Young, but he has an artistic ball. He paints a picture with his ball."

It's not a bad thing, it was just said by someone who lacks credibility.

Doesn't even mean he's wrong, just that you can trust the opinion.

He called Sean White a program changer. He was not right, and the fact that he saw Whites tools and made that assessment is all i need to know about trusting boquetes thrown out by Dilfer.

I mean I'm glad he thinks Tua is skilled and all, but you can't take any of his over the top rhetoric seriously.

Very true but if he keeps doing this every year then he's bound to be right at least once.... I hope he's right about Tua.
