Let's lower it to 7' for the women's contest.

Yep. Something about big Big Al sitting at that table judging a dunk contest makes me

Not exactly riveting television, but just getting a glimpse of the new guys was good. They should consider more of a traditional scrimmage next year.

This was a pretty good event with a better crowd than they expected and hoped for I'm sure. I'm ready to see the exhibition and the guys that actually play in a real situation.

I enjoyed watching and getting to see the guys have fun. The program and the fan base needed this. There is so much life in the program right now compared to the last regime.
Kinda felt bad for Brandon Austin last night during the dunk contest. I laughed when Avery told him to just put it in the hoop.
Shaffer can shoot. I wonder if he's talented enough to get any PT this year? If he could get 5-8 minutes a night, he might be able to hit a few shots for us.
I know it was a controlled situation and there was basically zero defense in the 5 on 5, but we looked very raw. The homer in me was hoping for a 20 win season and .500 conference record, but last night tempered my expectations. We should be fun to watch mostly, but some of it is going to be painful too.
I just hope everyone that is on board now sticks with it if we struggle this year and finish with 15 wins.

I'm on board for more than just this year. AS LONG AS WE IMPROVE. I'm thrilled with Avery and what he has done to this point. His recruiting and marketing have been on point. Gotta get those *'s to sign on signing day.
I agree this year will be full of growing pains, but on the nights that it clicks, we should be fun to watch.

In what little we could gather from that simulated "scrimmage", it seemed that we featured Austin a lot for trying to cut around a screener and get open from 3s. If he turns into a legitimate guy for us, I'm going to have to eat a lot of crow on him.

I had a ton of fun. Saw Deontay Wilder, and lol'd at the team dancing. Team did look raw, like someone said, but there will be some excitement this year on offense.

We looked "raw" during Grant's entire tenure. At least this go round there is excitement and top tier recruiting.

Was Reggie King one of the judges?

Anyone think Lawson Shaffer can be a player that can come off the bench and be our perimeter guy? Would Love to have one of those kind of threats like Mitch McGary was for Michigan a few years ago, during their run as the NCAA runner-up.

I'm guessing you mean Spike Albrecht. McGary was a post player with zero perimeter skills.

I couldn't remember which one, but before they play Louisville in the championship, they had someone who didnt miss from beyond the entire tournament. Thought it was Mitch because Trey Burke was the starter. My bad
