I know most don't want to even think about this, but this season is setting up a lot like Grant's first year. Inspired wins vs. better teams, second half collapses due to a lack of quality depth, and excitement of what's to come when he gets his players.

I do think this Bama team is staying in the tournament picture much longer than Grant's first team, though.

Did we really have 6 Top 100 wins that year?

No, but there was some reason for excitement after Grant's first year. Beat ranked a Michigan team, beat Mississippi State who was ranked at the time, beat Auburn at the end of the year to stop that streak, and beat a Baylor squad that went to the elite 8. Along with that, Bama nearly beat some good squads like Cornell, UK, and Vandy.

I can see why some would compare it to Grant. However, I highly doubt CAJ will end up getting lazy on the recruiting trail, have an internal battle with his players, and stop promoting the program as well as he has.

This X1000.

I don't envision Johnson having issues moving forward, and his infectious optimism is second to none. It is just eerie to me some of the similarities in their respective first years.

MRI showed nothing torn. Should be back soon, maybe Saturday.

That's from Kirk McNair on Kessens's injury. I'm sure we'll learn more during Johnson's PC today.

Alabama posted this video a few minutes ago. "When you find out there's fewer than 100 tickets remaining for tomorrow's game vs Mizzou! RTR! #BuckleUp" LINK

Yep. If u watch the video I just posted, i think it's the post game celebration from the MSU victory and Kessens is standing up without any help. Looks like it isn't that bad. I hope not anyways

BUT ALABAMA FANS DON'T CARE ABOUT BASKETBALL!!

Of course our support is higher when we're winning, but the fans rally behind a scrappy bunch that fights.

Tim Brando is a bitch

Anytime there was the slightest bit of excitement we pack the dang gym. Did it for Gottfried, did it for Grant, doing it for Avery.

We spent six years of time and money watching Anthony Grant "coach" our team. To do that, u have to REALLY love Alabama basketball. So I'd say we care a lot about this.

Louisville just self-imposed a 1 year tourney ban on themselves. That's one more spot open in the tourney now lol
