Some guys like Hall might benefit more from working by themselves to develop some skills than from working with the team. Rather they'd choose to put the work in individually though is debatable.

Yeah we might be best off just using the thing as a skills camp for some of the younger guys. We probably wouldn't go far doing that though, so we'd have less practices. If Hall doesn't have a single post move next year, I'm gonna lose my mind.

I'd much rather them get to spend time still getting their instructions from our coaches for the 20 hours allotted as opposed to just doing individual work and hanging out with coach ponytail.

I agree. I'm just saying I think a lot of the growth of this current group depends on the players' commitment to improving themselves. Hall, Ingram, Giddens, and King if he gets healthy have great athletic potential, but they need to develop their games.

The extra practices would be great if we could include Sexton, Petty and the other new guys. I just don't think it matters very much with the guys we have now. How many practices have we had this year, and we still can't score 20 points in the first half.

You can include Giddens and whether you like it or not, quite a few of these guys will get quite a few minutes next year

Last years roll was a lot more impressive over SEC #1 TAMU, #3 SCe plus solid UF/LSU teams.

This year 6/9 SEC wins came over #11/12/13 and 8/9 were over bottom half. The slate wasn't that rough thus far and they won the games they generally were suppose to

I thought Giddens had been practicing all year

He still has been w the program less than a year. On top of that, as a RS player he likely spent a ton of time on scout team rather than with the 1s/2s as he wasn't going to play

This team won't benefit from extra NIT practices. They have quit. Everyone knows the future is the guys coming in. If the guys coming in could practice, it would be worth it. Giddens has been with the program enough to know what's going on, it's not rocket science. Hell, Auburn started a high school kid that just enrolled.

Giddens showed up with a very raw offensive game. Any time with coaches developing his skills is extremely important. Same concept applies to a guy like Key who is a FR still developing

Don't buy the hype my fellow basketball Aubies are spewing, Wiley is as big a liability as he is an asset in most games right now for the same reasons.

Giddens/Wiley both have huge upside, but they both need significantly more coaching, skill refinement and practice to hit their ceilings

I guess we will just agree to disagree on this one. In my opinion, the only way practice would be beneficial is if they had the new guys there. We are missing 2 guys for the rest of the season and a 3rd is suspended for the rest of the regular season and possibly the post season. These guys, besides Key and Giddens, who can't play anyway, are role players.

Practice especially for the freshman would definitely be beneficial. More time with teammates learning the system each other etc is never a bad thing. Silly to think it wouldnt be a positive. Its practice and learning and gaining experience...... all of which are a plus.

More HS playoffs start today. Might go check out some action in Bham today.

Actually nvm. Not 6A or 7A. March 2nd is when McGill Toolen and Mt Brook play.

What's your predictions for this week? I say 1-1. Barely beat Ole Miss and lose at Tennessee. Finish 17-13 heading into the SECT.

Turning down the NIT would be dumb, but I also had this thought last night:

We are due for an overseas trip. NCAA allows one every 4 years. Our last was in 2013. This means 10 extra practices, plus exhibition games. IMO, this is PERFECT timing with 5 freshman and whatever other transfers out/in we have.
