According to PFF

quote:

Through 13 games, Williams has registered 9.5 sacks from his Jack linebacker position. According to Pro Football Focus, the Baton Rouge, La., native has a pass rush productivity of 30.9, which is the highest number in the entire nation of any pass rusher with at least 100 attempts.

He's better than Clowney. I may get flamed for that but the dude is flat unblockable.

He does give 110% every play. I thought he was offside on one sack. He was in the backfield so fast. After looking at the replay, he wasn't. He just timed the snap perfectly and has an explosive first step.

The guy is an animal.

Is it a given he will be back next year? It's still a bit surprising he's already a Jr.

That was incredible.... he was past the lineman before he came out of his stance...I was sure that was gonna be a flag. he is just that quick.

Ryan Anderson ain't bad either. Bama really needs 4 players to come back next year. Reuben, T. Williams, Ryan Anderson, and Dalvin. It is possible to lose all 4. Especially if they do well in the next two games.

Looking for Williams to have a big game against OU/Clemson and their mobile QB's.

We need to hit Watson/Mayfield....repeatedley

love watching him get after a qb. how many times has he driven the qb into another dl sack. forcing a qb to move quickly is good.

There was a play against Auburn where we ran on a stunt on our right side (Allen and Evans I think). The LT freezes and fails to block either one but TW still manages to get to the QB first from the left edge for the sack. Allen had to be pissed. Untouched to the QB but TW beat him to it.

Reason teams are doing this:

Remember his recruitment, Mag? LSU backed off supposedly because of character concerns. Les's son was on his high school team IIRC. Looked Miami bound for awhile. TBH I wasn't all that excited about him because I had convinced myself that our system just wasn't built to feature a true speed rusher.

Went to school on campus and LSU still didn't want him. Yet some were still scared LSU would swoop in at the last second and take him after he committed

Seemed all but destined to be at Miami, but Bama kept their foot in the door and it paid off. I too wondered about his fit in the scheme at the time, as we were still use to just bullrushers.

And yet here we are today...

It seems he's always against the RT also and rarely is coming on the QB's blind side.

I wish we would pursue Jeremiah Moon like we did Williams. Kid is showing out in Hattiesburg this week.

I notice Bama is taking more "tweeners" this year. I think that's what Bear called em. The 3 and done guys are great, but you really need some 4 and 5 year guys for leadership and experience. Guys like Dillon Lee, Denzell Duvall , Ryan Kelly are just as valuable as the Ridleys and Fitzpatricks.

And Tim Williams, D. hand, and R. Evans are the quick twitch players Saban was talking about in 2012 when asked about stopping the HUNH. That's why I think this is Sabans best defense at Bama. They are very versatile.

I remember seeing that live and saying "I guess they don't call holds in the SEC anymore." If it's not going to be called when two different players are holding your arms from either side, when is it gonna be called?

It took a couple of recruiting cycles, but think that Saban finally has the right mix of players to counter both spread/HUNH teasm as well as traditional power teams. That and refs are more attuned to coaches like Gus mitigating defensive subs. with his scheme and allowing defensive minded coaches to get the package they want in. I noticed we were running some hurry up in the SECCG and refs would make sure gators had a chance to sub.
