Jamarcus Shepard
I'm not as intrigued by this name... he has only been at UW since 2022, so how much impact has he truly had on their passing game? His other coaching stops don't seem to be impressive either... but I got that information from Wikipedia, so I'm clearly a genius

I think what's intriguing (if it's true Saban is interested) is that by all reports, Saban really wanted Grubb, so maybe he's hoping some of that Grubb-ness has rubbed off on Shepard?
If you can't get Grubb, maybe this is the next best thing in order to introduce some of the DeBoer/Grubb concepts into our offense?

Never thought of this but I like this idea

I'd like to see how our offense would do without a starting a freshman LT, a center that can't snap the ball, an entire re-worked line, a first year starter, and a brand new OC.
Then maybe we can properly assess our offensive coordinator.
I've said this before and I'll die on this hill. The 2023 team overachieved as this should have been a "re-build" year.
2022 squad completely shite the bed and on paper/talent should have won the national championship walking away. That is going to be the one team in Saban's era we are going to look back and say what the frick.

Totally agree!! I think 2023 overachieved and might have been my favorite team during the Saban era. Team had flaws but grew in front of our eyes.
2024, offensively should be really good. Question is does Milroe make that jump or does Simpson overtake him? Excited to see these two improve in the spring

What happened to tidal?
He passed away.
I found out when I sent him a text and he didn't respond. I knew his name and some of his family story so I googled him and obituary and found it.
One of his last posts was something about having health issues lately.

Happy for him but I hope his replacement is way better

Simpson dropping the ball at the one yard line.
What part of Saban's directive to give the ball to the referee is so difficult to understand? WTH is wrong with these players? If I was Saban, I'd make any player who didn't follow that directive run the stadium steps.

Happy for Burton. Hopefully he kills it during NFL workouts.
I’m honestly glad he’s going pro and not trying to transfer again with his Covid year. Hate seeing guys finish at other schools. Sort of like JQ in hoops. Hate seeing him finish at Memphis. He’s a Bama guy.

Updated. Zay Mincey listed at CB according to On3 and I assume that’s where we want him.

Thank you for tracking this! So we're at 88 now and need to get down to 85?
Posted on 1/6/24 at 3:41 pm to Sl0thstronautEsq
I have to wonder if we are planning to look at another one or two offensive linemen in the portal. Will be interesting to see if we add someone after spring practice.
Posted on 1/6/24 at 3:50 pm to Sl0thstronautEsq
Hopefully Ryan Williams will be added so that’s another spot. Just not putting him in officially until he signs.
Posted on 1/6/24 at 3:55 pm to EGO3x
I have to say that Ty Simpson coming back and not transferring helps our cause. Another quarterback competition is on the horizon.
Posted on 1/6/24 at 4:31 pm to EGO3x
The Ryan Williams saga has been crazy, even in the recent weeks. We lose Wiggins, his primary recruiter (and I think we need to name the replacement before Williams commits on Feb 9th).
Then AU loses half their coaching staff. Their bowl game is trash. Their QB is trash, and they haven’t secured another QB from the portal to help sway Williams.
In my opinion, things are looking good… but obviously I won’t count him until the ink is dry
