I don't think Meyer would come to Bama, but he will be the best coach in the nation when Saban retires. It's the AD's job to get the best person for the job, so you have to get Meyer to say no before you move to the next person.

Meyer doesn't stay at one place for too long, he might be bored of Ohio St by then. If you don't ask, then you will never know.

Urban isn't ever leaving Ohio State. If he is, it's to the NFL and I seriously doubt he will. He's from Ohio, recruiting there is good, they have all the facilities, ad right now they only have to compete with one team for the playoffs (Michigan).

Good point, can't argue with that. Could be wrong, but I think the only jump Meyer might make would be Notre Dame; he once said that was his dream job. But when it was offered to him when both it and the UF job opened up, Meyer made the smart decision instead of an emotional one and took the UF job instead, so who knows...

1. "Coach in waiting" was a completely IDIOTIC concept that proved to be absolutely poisonous everywhere it was tried. It was a silly fad that thankfully died a few years ago.

2. You should never under any circumstances hire a co-coordinator who has never been a head coach before. The vast majority of good co-coordinators do not make good head coaches. You should always try to hire a head coach that has proven he can win as a head coach already.

You're wrong. The information has been posted, you can either accept it or not. It doesn't matter to me.

Roll Tide, have a nice day.

plays in probably the worst Power 5 division

I think you are unfairly comparing the SECE to the SECW. No other division this side of the NFL does well in that comparison.

ACC Coastal

Either Pac 12 league

50% of the Big 10 finished below .500 last year and are on track for a similar finish.

I can argue with it, and I will argue with it.

For starters, Saban might not retire for another five years. Lots can happen in five years.

Meyer last year did not impress me at all. He completely mismanaged his QB situation, and the whole Ezekiel Elliott disaster against MSU still haunts Buckeye fans. No one knows what's going to happen in the next five years. Harbaugh could go on a run against OSU. Saban could beat Meyer a couple of times in a row and produce a reaction by Meyer similar to how he left Florida.

Yeah, when Saban finally retires, Meyer could be the best active coach. But there's also reason to suggest that might not be the case.
