The talent level is off the charts...time to develop a dominant OL again.

I just want us to get back to that "make his arse quit" mentality from 09-12 when we just physically beat people up.

Even our receivers would bust you in the mouth.

Just watched a video on spring practice. Travis Reier is Bateman has been at "the bottom of the barrel" between the 4 QBs throwing.

Reier seems to be really surprised by how good Hurts is looking.

Hurts isn't playing. RS. It's Barnett and I expect him to be named starter going into fall camp.

That's great to hear. He could turn out to be an incredible player for us.

Hurts won't play, but he has apparently looked very good for a true freshman. Reier said his arm strength is just as good as the rest of the QBs. I expect it to come down between Barnett and Cornwell.

Don't sleep on Bateman, he is the most athletic of the top 3, is the veteran of the group with real game experience and even a start. He will be in the thick of things well into fall camp. I expect BB8 to start but, but I thought Corn would start at this time last year. I do think Corn is a serious dark horse in this race...smart kid and cannon for an arm. I'm just glad we have several solid options this year.

BB-8 to start at QB, says Saban

quote:

Alabama Coach Nick Saban called a press conference Monday to announce the winner of what most had expected to be a heated QB battle that lasted into the fall.

"We gave all the guys a chance to compete," said Saban. "I'm really proud of all of our quarterbacks, you know? I think they all put in tremendous effort.

"But at the end of the day, BB-8 was a machine out there. He came in a little smaller than most of our typical quarterbacks and we were worried about him being an SEC quarterback. But once he got on the field, he left no doubt about it: the guy's like a robot."

David Cornwell, one of the quarterbacks that lost out, had high praise. "When BB-8 first came in, you could tell he was a little rusty. But after some work by his mechanics, he looked smoother than anybody on the team.

"His real asset is his maneuverability. He can pivot on a dime, and I'm not sure how you'd even really tackle the dude.

"Overall, he's the most well-rounded player on the team."

Finally, we caught up with the droid himself (and his translator, Poe Dameron).

"I'm really happy to have this opportunity at Alabama," he said. "My real love is soccer, but after being mistaken for the ball several times, I figured football was a safer option.

Every time someone refers to Barnett as BB8

Just in case anybody was wondering ... that wasn't a real news story.

Don't understand why Charles Baldwin is at left tackle

After watching Saban's press conference today, it seems that Baldwin has a long way to go and hasn't bought in. I highly doubt we'll see him this season.
