Harris has great speed, quickness, and feet. He carried the ball mostly in "don't fumble" situations where the D had their eyes on the tailback right from the snap. We certainly haven't seen his best yet.

Go back and watch his HS tape and then watch some Lasean McCoy from Pitt or even his early NFL years (before he put on some extra muscle). That's pretty much his comp and with a similar ceiling too

I didn't realize that. Not trying to be down on him, he just didn't seem THAT fast last season.

I think that was more due to nerves and not wanting to frick up than speed.

A lot of people are seriously underrating him. He's going to be very good.

First team OL today:

From left to right: Big Lester, Bozeman, Ross, Shank, Kirven

(Big Cam is wearing a black jersey).

Interesting to see Ross at Center. Opens up another guard spot for some of those young studs. I havent been terribly impressed with Hassenauer at Center.

Kirven seems to be the darkhorse this summer. Good for him for earning some first team reps.

Don't understand why Charles Baldwin is at left tackle, Cam Rob has that locked up. If Kirven is the starting right tackle this year, Bama will be in trouble.

Bama has so many options on the OL this year that I'll be very suprised if that isn't a strength for us this year. I expect a lot of experimentation in order to find the best 5. I have a feeling Cotton may lock a spot up in fall camp, whether that's RG or RT.

I think Cotton will take RG with Baldwin at RT.

I like Cotton at RT.

Not too sure about Baldwin right now.

Is Shank really 345? Not sure he can be effective that big. Lots of young interior players could be in the mix.

Because Cam Rob was wearing a black jersey...

Yeah, but he will be back by the fall. I doubt they brought in a JUCO player to back up Cam Rob this fall. Baldwin was brought in to compete for the open right tackle position. He is a new player and needs to learn the blocking schemes and wasting his time at left tackle just doesn't make since.

They're just building depth in case CRob gets hurt, nothing to see here.

I hope Bozeman is not a starter this year. He got beat out at right guard last year by Taylor and Taylor isn't the best guard. There is too much talent on the o-line for guys like Bozeman and Taylor to be starting this year. Bozeman and Taylor are good players, just not elite.

One thing I'll say about Shank, he plays with a lot of enthusiasm. And I can't even remember the last time a healthy, returning starter on the OL lost his job in the off-season. Of course, having a new OL coach makes it a little more likely I would think.

I'm hoping Cotten gets a shot at one of the open positions. Love his combo of power and athleticism.

Bama signed very few elite OL in the 10-13 signing classes. Cyrus K and Grant Hill are the only two. Cyrus was a great player and Hill would have been if not for the problems he had.
The last 3 OL signing classes have probably been the best in the country. The days of Leon Brown, Dom Jackson, Austin Shepred, Bozeman and Taylor starting are almost over.

First team OL today:

Big Jonah, Bozeman, Ross, Shank, Big Lester

good sign seeing Jonah moving up the "chart" like that.

Jonah is gonna start ahead of Baldwin at right tackle. I thought that they would split time early in the season, and then Jonah would begin to get more time, but now I'm not so sure.

I think Lester takes RT. Jonah starts out as backup LT.

Baldwin needs to do something quick or risk getting passed by.

If Ross stays at center then I'd like to see Cotton at left guard and Jonah at RT.
