Considering Yeldon, fowler, drake, Henry and hart I'd be ok with RS all of them unless one is that good or heaven forbid we need them due to injuries.

I know most people have already anointed Henry as the Next One, but I'm not convinced yet that he's the best of the 4 RB's. I know about his records, but watching his HS videos, it just looked like he was bigger than everyone else. I don't know how his skills are going to translate to college. I'm not saying he won't be good, but I don't know if he'll be the best. It would have been nice to have been able to see him at A-Day. It's just hard to judge the level of competition in HS highlight films.

Agree with Teague about Henry.

As far as redshirts go, we don't traditionally redshirt healthy RBs but we don't traditionally sign 4 RBs in 1 class. On the one hand, you hate to redshirt anyone that talented. On the other hand, it's possible we sign 0 RBs in '14 in which case it'd be nice to have a redshirt freshman from '13

Tenpenny seems like he would be great on ST coverage units so I could see him doing that along with mop up.

They're gonna redshirt at least 1, my guess would be two. We may not take a RB in this class.

I think a lot of folks are completely forgetting about Drake.

Drake didn't show out on A-day so that's caused some people to be down on him even though, like Mag said, there were reports that he had a phenomenal spring. I look at him like a bigger Kamara: explosive home-run threat with surprising power but not someone who'll make a guy miss in the hole

This is my view too. So much of the RB's success is due to vision and ability to change direction quickly without stopping. Henry seems like he relied a whole lot on people just not being able to get their arms around him because he was so big.

Henry will be a beast in short yardage situations I think, but I have to wonder what his production will look like as a feature back. His size will make him automatically more injury prone, less evasive, and possibly less effective against SEC caliber defenses where he won't be the biggest guy on the field. You have to be able to be somewhat shifty to make the guys in this league miss because if they wrap you up, and your name isn't Trent Richardson, your arse is going down. Period.

Lacy had that ability to change directions without looking like he changed directions, then there was the spin move. Ingram had that low center of gravity which allowed him cut well, Trent had that plus the strength of a fricking D-Lineman to carry defenders if need be.

I am going to have to see something special out of Henry before I make a decision on him.

I'm down on Drake because of his suspensions.

But as for the Freshman, I think Henry obviously sees the PT early, but Jones, in my opinion, will be the best of the bunch when all is said and done. I hope all four stay at Bama, get some sort of PT, and then get drafted. That'd be hilarious and awesome at the same time.

As long as it's a 1 time thing, I wouldn't read too much into the suspension. White and Gentry were suspended for a game a couple years ago; didn't seem to affect their roles going forward.

Our RB group is embarrassingly talented and deep. This is how I see it as far as pecking order:

1)Yeldon
2)Henry (by midseason, Drake may hold this spot early)
3)Drake
4)Hart (will play mostly in mop-up duty--which may be alot)
5)Tennpeny (see Hart)

6)Jones (red-shirt)
7)Kamara (red-shirt)
8) Fowler--starter at H-Back--may get a carry here or there.

-I think Henry is the most likely to play in 2013 because he enrolled early. He will need to adjust his running style to be highly effective in college. Who was the last SEC Jumbo RB that excelled? Needs to improve hands and blocking.

-Tenpenny: Looks the best on the hoof to the typical fan that goes crazy over his legs/calves. Big calves are irrelevant when it comes to speed, explosiveness and power. See Adrian Peterson for reference....high muscular calves with longer Achilles Tendon....which is more indicative of fast-twitch explosiveness and quickness. However.....he may be the best "combine measuresables" guy of the group but I think he has a ways to go in terms of agility, footwork and ball skills. Needs to work on pass-catching and running routes out of the backfield.

-Kamara: Looks "cat-quick" in the RB drills which confirms the high 4.3x/low 4.4x that I've been told he's run since arriving this Summer. Great pass catcher. Think he'd be a great KR guy and "in-space" guy until he can pack on 15 pounds. Currently 5'10", 195 and he's ripped. Should be 210 within the next 1-2 years and then SEC RB ready.

-Jones: The best RB Skillset of the Group in part because his dad (Grambling Star in early 1990s, Indy Colts NFL Camp, former All-Star Arena player and current Speed & Agility Trainer) has prepped him. Think he will benefit from 1 year of toning his body by losing a little bodyfat. His body needs to go more towards Kamara and Kamara more towards his....somewhere in the middle is ideal for both over the next 1-2 years. Very good strength numbers for an 18 year old freshmen RB. Needs to improve explosiveness and initial burst.

Not sure it will be evident in 2013 [as they may RS this year] but I think Kamara & Jones will be top-notch after they develop more physically. Both already have the skillset. It's easier to improve body and explosiveness than it is to improve RB instincts and pass-catching/ball skills at this stage/age.

He may get to play in the slot position some. I'd like to see him in that roll if it can get him on the field quicker.
