Just my 3 cents..

First of all, Washington is a good team. Well coached and came to play. They deserve a lot of credit for disrupting our offense. They just beat us on many plays.

The offense was just a perfect storm of ugliness. The O line was not good. Bozeman in particular had a really bad day. I'm pretty sure he was responsible for the false start on 3rd and 1 near the red zone, at least one delay penalty, and then he got nervous and snapped a couple balls too quickly. Damn, the crowd was loud, though. Tough communication.

Some of Lane's play calls were just bizarre. Thought he called a pretty bad game that didn't do our offensive guys any favors.

Jalen wasn't all bad, but he wasn't good either. SEVERAL throws were there, be it slants, check downs to the RB, what have you, where he simply did not pull the trigger. Pulled the ball down and took bad losses many times. Occasionally made some yardage. The grounding play was terrible and a drive killer.

If it wasn't poor decisions, play calls, or execution in general, penalties were killing us. It was our worst game of the year offensively.

Bo was incredible, and that was one of the best TD runs I've ever seen as a Bama fan. We're finally seeing what this guy is capable of.

Adam made his kick! Yay! JK was awesome as usual.

The D was dominant and definitely played chippy.

All in all, I'm just glad we advanced, and I really can't imagine we could come out with a performance like that offensively again unless we just tried. If I had to guess, we'll look much more crisp on Monday. Bring on Clemson and Roll Tide!

Jalen's best spiral pass all night was when he threw the ball away to the photographers on the sideline.

Did we run any of the Lane Kiffin patented jet sweeps or bubble screens? Methinks we will go back to those heavily in the CFPNCG.
Even as good as Bo played against UW, I expect to see more of DH next week, too. For some reason, I think we were just showing some "other" type plays for Clemson to study.

We didn't run those jet sweeps because of their secondary guys. I was totally fine with the gameplan of playing safe and just pounding them, knowing it might not result in as many yards or points.

However, Lane had some boneheaded stuff in the confines of that plan, and Jalen looked lost.

we played an extremely vanilla offensive gameplan and still covered

that's how good this defense is.

Not true and quit being a dick about it. He did not have a great night but he still threw a few nice passes; one of which was called back for a penalty. And one throw in particular on 3rd down kept a drive alive.

The utterly amazing thing to me is that all season a ton of our fans have been screaming for Lane to quit the cute stuff and "just run the damned ball."

Then we have a game where they get exactly what they want, it goes exactly as you might expect, and they bitch about that too even though Bama in going to the NC game again.

2 things I noticed on the rewatch.
1. They called a false start or 2 on us where there was 1 sec on play clock . If never saw them want to call it so fast in my life.
2. The qb from Washington had the finest punt by a qb that I have ever saw in my life. 50 yds then out of bounds at the 1 or 2.

I don't love the sweeps but I was shocked we didn't run any until 5minutes left in the game. I did think a bubble screen or two may have been a good way to get the ball in Ridley and Stewart's hands with minimal risk.

Regarding JK why cant he make the ball die inside the 10 or bounce like some other kickers?

I am one of those people and this was not it. I wanted us to run the ball with Bo Scar, not Hurts. The only person on the field that could consistently stop Bo was Kiffin.

Yeah, the refs had a quick trigger finger on those two delay of game calls. To go even further, its like the refs were extremely ticky tack with us all game.

Not really.

Kicked it into the end zone 2 or 3 times, resulting in de facto 20 yard punts.

It still baffles me that the coffin corner kick has gone the way of the dodo. Even if you don't do it great, the 15 is better than the 20.

I'm not and I am speaking factually. Jalen has A+ talent in every QB phase, but a nice downfield pass. Notice the wobbling of the ball in most, but not all, of his passes.
He will come around on this, and once he does, he will be virtually unstoppable.

That first delay of game was utter garbage. The clock had 100% not turned to 0 when the back judge flung his flag in the air. I was staring at the clock from the same viewpoint the back judge was, and he totally did it out of anticipation. Generally it seems referees wait until they see the 0's, which gives a team probably an extra half second, this guy went the other way and threw it while the clock was still at 1.

Utter horseshite.

My understanding is their protocol is to watch the clock hit 0 then look at the ball. If it is being moved (which it was), you don't blow the whistle.
