SEC Network sideline analyst and Cube Show host Cole Cubelic has a couple far-too-early and probably-too-crazy predictions for the upcoming Alabama football season.

First, an 0-1 record. Then, a loss in Starkville.

Cubelic said on Twitter on Monday that Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide would lose to Florida State in the Sept. 2. season opener at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

He also said the Tide would lose the Nov. 11 game at Mississippi State.

Cubelic went on to explain, saying the Bama pass rush might not be as dominant as fans have come to expect.

“Haven’t seen the next wave produce as much going into this year as we have the past few. Can’t imagine it being near as good as 2016.” https://t.co/mBCduchQs3

The win would certainly make MSU feel good about the four-year contract extension it passed along to Dan Mullen on Monday.

FWIW, he also predicts Alabama to be the SEC Champion again:

Alabama loses 2 they are going to Atlanta & there's not an East team that could play within 14 points of them. So, SEC Champs.... https://t.co/b8zJ9y42PJ

I guess he thinks Fitzgerald and Francois are the two QBs we will face next season that could play that Deshaun Watson type game against us.

I don't see us losing to either one of them honestly. Auburn? That's another story.

Who gives a shite? Never understand why so many fans get triggered by a predictions from analysts. It literally has no effect on our season.

I follow Cubelic on Twitter and he was getting hammered by idiot Bama fans all day yesterday.

Isn't he the same guy who said Bama would lose 4 games in 15?

Perception is that Bama struggles against HUNH spread teams. That's only slightly true...we struggle against HUNH spread teams who have an especially talented dual threat QB (with a supporting cast), along with an above average defense. MSU may have the QB but they definitely lack the supporting cast/defense...FSU may have the defense/supporting cast but it remains to be seen if they have the QB...

You mentioned Auburn...Auburn has the defense and the RB, not sure 'bout their WRs yet. Stidham looks like he can sling it, and may be a stud, but I don't know if he can run the ball as well as the QBs that have given us the most trouble...maybe he can but that'll be a wait and see thing...

I do expect Mississippi State to take a bigger step forward next year, but Mullen's play calling has been awful against Alabama.

They basically get told to do this right? I don't think ESPN would let all of its analysts say Alabama is going to easily run the table

It's not random. Mississippi State is always a trendy pick when the game is in Starkville. Because "they played Alabama close" there in the past and the game is "after Alabama plays LSU."

Cubelic is a solid analyst. He's not always 100% but nobody is.

I'm not too worried about MSU but the FSU game scare the hell out of me. I feel like I say this every year but this upcoming year does seem like the type of year where we could have more than one loss in the regular season. Can't wait to be proven wrong again.
