I read this site for five or six years before I finally joined. There were a lot of posters that shared great information. TidalSurge1 along with a few others was one of the reason I joined. I will miss all his information. And to his family, if you read this, you cannot imagine what he meant to a community of Alabama fans. Prayers for his family.

RIP to Surge. He was a great poster, I know he took his ball and ran with the recruiting page, but it was great while it lasted and he put in a ton of work that was much appreciated by all.

Surge was a blessing to this board and to Alabama fans on this website. Always brought the best information he had to offer to us.

I always liked his views on expansion and superconferences, brought me a new perspective towards the mess that's facing CFB now.

RIP Surge, and I hope his family is doing well. This hurts to read. Fly high, Surge

Dang, that makes me sad. Surge had been at the Alabama message board thing for a long time. Always kept the place up to date on all Bama news. He will be missed. Prayers out to his loved ones.

Very sorry to hear this. RIP.

TS, would you care to expound upon any more information that you know about his health issues?
If it's too sensitive for a message board, I can understand. Since, I, along with others here, are approaching his age , am I always wanting to learn what can make us healthier, or not.

TIA

I don't know much other than what Surge mentioned in passing over the last few years.

He acknowledged a lot of his health issues were due to his smoking. He was a gym rat, but admitted he smoked way too much.

He recently had an undisclosed surgery, but he did say it was serious enough that he may not make it through it. He did though.

I know he had a stroke at one point as well.

I have a way to reach out to one of his sons, but I have been hesitant to do so because it may weird him out. Saying your dad and I were internet buddies is a strange way to start a conversation.
