I thought it was a foregone conclusion that we would see a transfer at the end of the QB battle... too much talent on the roster with high caliber freshman coming in each year to try and wait.
And it will probably be the same every year. They all don't get to play.

With the addition of two Qb's for 2017 and each year having a 4 / 5 star recruit.... Unless the coaches can coach a qb up so that they have an assembly line, next guy up effort, it would seem that there would be a transfer at least every other year. And it does seem that the players who are out there competing every day, can tell who is where and what their chances are if everyone stays healthy. Seems most of the scuttlebutt seems to indicate Cooper will be the guy (unless this is just misdirection for USC) and if the players are feeling this, why wouldn't Cornwell either make a full out blitz to get his degree and be ready for a Grad Transfer or if the degree is too far away, just hit the trail now??? All the drama around QB is just too much, bring back a GMc / AJ situation.... please for a few years let's have a returning QB

Did he ever truly get out of the doghouse?

I also wouldn't be surprised if Barnett transfers if Bateman gets the nod.

I would be Surprised if Barnett transferred. It's not like Bateman is a freshman or sophomore, he will be gone after next year.

Just from my foxhole and recently when Kiffin was asked who would start today, he obviously said Bateman due to experience. He immediately went into how much he likes Hurts and never mentioned Barnett or Cornwell. Time will tell.

Replying for no other reason that to say, Glad to see a post from the Boz.
I thought Bateman was hung out to dry against OleMiss, no QB keepers seemed to be in the game plan for Cooper and he seemed to be very tentative and careful not to take off. Whereas Jake took off several times when he took over and I think these "take offs" and his dogged determination to make the play was what won the team and job for Jake. I am confident that the Coaches will get someone ready for 2016 and regardless of which guy, for the 1st time in 3 years next season there should be a returning QB (with all the talent, not sure the returning QB may not be able to hold the position)
If just a popularity contest, I think many would vote for Blake or Jalen at this point.

He would probably stay this year as I think he's on pace to graduate next summer and could transfer without penalty and 2 years to play. That's the new trend with the hot shot QB's coming out of high school. They hedge their bets by graduating HS early and starting school in the Spring with the idea of graduating in 3 years and moving on if it's not working out
